The building is very impressive. The self serve ticket machines are excellent - very easy to use and plenty of them.

The train station was very large and there were shops in the train station also but be aware we asked to take a taxi from the train station and the cab driver told us he would take us there for 10 euros we ended up saying no because we knew it was very close, we stayed at the ibis hotel which was only a 5 minute walk from the train station and it was not a problem with our luggage also.

For such an imposing structure, built in the Liberty and Fascist periods of Italian history, this building is amazingly easy to navigate. Architecturally unique and worthy of a visit on that basis alone, there is much more to offer inside as to its utilitarian purpose. As an added benefit, there is a small but quite comprehensive grocery store in the building with very reasonable prices which provides a convenient stop for travelers on their way home. Many shops and restaurants round out the services provided and its importance as a transportation hub is apparent.

Stazione Centrale di Milano is certainly a magnificent building. With it's many sculptures, mosaic floors and high vaulted ceilings it must be one of the most beautiful train stations in Europe. Inside it's nice and clean, but also extremely crowded. The station was close to our hotel so we found it pretty convenient when travelling to Monza.
The Italian train system isn't easy to figure out, so you have to take some time to find out which train you have to take to get where you want to go. The information people weren't especially helpful, and the first day we missed the train we were trying to take. But once we figured out how the system worked, we found it pretty straightforward.
