St. Ambrose's name is on a beautiful, interesting basilica. Highly recommended. Great part of City. Spend some time in the basilica and in the neighborhood.

Very interesting, worth spending some time looking around at the various features, see the crypt but watch out you don't trip over some of the locals kissing the floor in front of the saints in there!

This is a must see basilica built in the 4th century by St. Ambrose. Loved the old frescoes and the treasury. The history of Christianity in Milan is enshrined in this basilica! Do not miss the bodies of St. Ambrose and his brother in the crypt. Some lovely chapels too!

Spent about half an hour here. Had a great time. Worth paying the additional two Euros to see the extra chapel areas. Not in the same league as the cathedral, but cheaper and just as interesting, if a little smaller.

we only have 8 hours to catch the beauty of a very large city, from the train station, we purchased a day pass for any transportation and took the green line to st. ambrogio stop. We toured the bello basilica with the bones of the patron saint of Milano and then went to the leonardo da vinci science and technology museum which was very cool, genius man and you also see all the inventions Italians were responsible for, then a treat, there is a basilica of st. vitore, stunning and then eventually we moved inside the centro, taking in the castello of the dukes of milan, castello sforzsco which is large and has museums, the transportation system is a dream, so easy, hop on the metro or the trams/streetcars and go anywhere, which for us was il Duomo which is almost overwhelming, when you catch the first glance its almost like a mirage, very indescribable. After wandering inside and out, we found Luini Pannezotti's and I ordered the pannezotti of the day which was full of pesto, amazing at 2.50 euro's. The queqe goes fast so you kind of have to look at the menu quickly but they have sweet pannezotti and different ones filled with veg
