My husband and I visited this restaurant on the recommendation of our hotel owner at The Yard Hotel. We figured if he ate there regularly as a local then it must be worth a visit. We were looking for food with an Italian twist in a modern setting that was high quality food without being Michellin Star (or price tag) and that is exactly what we got.
The restaurant/bar is located on the canal so a lovely little setting and I imagine in summer it would be very busy. The restaurant interior was modern, simple and tastefully done. It was recommended that we sit at the chefs bar so we could watch them prepare the food. It did at the beginning feel like we were encroaching on the chefs workspace but once a few pleasantries were passed we felt at home. If you don't speak Italian don't expect them to speak much English. We did sit next to other locals who frequented the restaurant regularly and they talked us through the dishes in a bit more detail, which was great.
We went for the chefs selection of 5 tapas plates each so we had no say in what we received (other than dietary requirements). Every dish was exceptional and so different from the last. The chefs selection was priced between £18-£25 depending on how many plates you had. And the wine list was really great and not too expensive.
