I think to have discovered something almost unbelievable: a seafood restaurant, good and with fair prices, in the very centre of Milan.
The La Rena is an old restaurant which, after several changes during the last years, has recently changed everything: name, management, chef, and cuisine type.
Now the menu ( virtually seafood only ) includes the usual, traditional fish dishes, but also some examples of the so-called creative cuisine applied to seafood. I have not yet tried these latter ones but I can say that the fish, prepared according to the classical recipes, is really fresh and excellent. And this at prices absolutely unusual in a good and central restaurant of Milan.
The wine list presents a peculiarity: besides a considerable number of well-known brands of Italian wines, the new management offers several wines coming from small Italian producers, not yet renowned but worthy to be tried. And wines too have a reasonable price.
The restaurant is nice and unpretentious, with tables duly spaced, comfortable seats, and no music at full volume; finally I must mention the service, provided by a staff thoughtful and friendly without being intrusive.
In conclusion, a restaurant which deserves to be praised and to be successful.
