“Excellent value for money”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

I stayed in this hotel several times over the last month.
Great location, close to navigli area (with canals, bars and restaurants), city center and public transportation (tram in front of hotel). Area a bit noisy, but not disturbing with proper isolation.
Nice newly furbished modern rooms with with all parts in working order (tv set, shower, airco etc). Wifi is free but does not work properly in all rooms. Some rooms have a very nice balcony looking out on a square and church.
Breakfast is OK, and next to the hotel very pleasant alternatives available.
Overall the hotel deserves more than 3 stars in my opinion and is great value for money.

This hotel does not look much from the outside but we were impressed with what was inside. Staff were extremely friendly especially Peter and Riccardo on reception for whom nothing was a problem. Rooms were a good size, fully air conditioned and spotlessly clean. Bathrooms were a fair size, shower cubicle adequate. even our soap was changed every day. Breakfast is the only thing that I felt let it down. As someone who has a nut allergy I could not eat any of the pastries which were available. I don't eat cereals and was left with a choice of salami ,ham or cheese with a bread roll. You may think that is good but we were there for 7 days and believe me you eventually get fed up with the same thing. The location is excellent. Tram 3 from outside the hotel takes you to the Duomo. Tram 9 - a 2 minute walk away runs to Centrale Station and we would advise anyone travelling to this hotel to take the tram from outside the station and not the metro which is a good 15 minute walk away. Check with the hotel for the name of the tram stop. Cost of tram ticket is E1.50 for a single journey or E4.50 for a 24 hour ticket. This can be used for bus, tram or metro or any combination. Remember to stamp your ticket in the yellow box before you use a new mode of transport. Hotel or any newsagent sells the tickets.

Room Tip: There are basically 2 types of rooms. Some with balconies and some without. If you want a balcony as...

From my blog: http://jeremyhelligar.blogspot.it/2013/08/10-random-thoughts-i-had-during-my.html

Never judge a 3-star hotel by the worn exterior or the cranky receptionist (whom I later killed with kindness until he was reborn a somewhat chatty, cheerful guy). Hotel Milano Navigli might not look like much from the outside (and after dragging my luggage several kilometers from Piazza Missori, due to the spectacularly bad directions given to me by the lady at the Stazione Centrale information center, I was dreading what I'd see on the inside). But surprise!: It's turning out to be one of my favorite hotels ever. I love the brown and silver metallic floor, the balcony (a rarity in a three-star property), the spotless bathroom packed with toiletries, and the brown toilet paper (a color I've never seen in that form before). Alas, with a bidet also included (yes!) in the layout, the brown toilet paper will be mostly decorative.

Very nice hotel inbetween the historical citycenter and the restaurantarea. Quite rooms although a lot of traffic in front of the hotel. Staff is very friendly and helps you with every question you may have. We would return to this hotel.

Its location is one of best in Milan. Every morning the rings of a church standing 50 meters away from the hotel at the piazza S.Eustorgio make you up softly and gently. Our room 308 faces to the piazza. Any access to the city center is always available. If you take a walk to the center under the hot August sun light, it is also quite nice, because along the way you make, shops, churches and nice people are around.

Room Tip: 308 is good choose!

Beautiful and clean rooms with excellent breakfast.
If I ever go back to Milano this hotel will be my home again.
Location is great (close to centre and close to Navigli, where you find the best bars and restaurants in town).
Peter is the perfect host.

Situated in the more southern part of the city -but yet inside the center ring- this hotel is a great 'home-base'. Tram stops in front of the entrance, taxi stand nearby and walking to the center is easily done. Did one mention all the restaurants in the surrounding area already !-)
Getting there on your first visit to Milano might look difficult since it is not near a metro but we managed to walk from 'Genova FS' in middle of August. A Taxi will always work of course.

Clean, well organized hotel with friendly staff. In general they tried to make it a very modern hotel (colored lights, design chairs, art deco tiles) and in my opinion they did not succeed in this. It all does not come together (to many styles?). But it all works quite good and efficiently. The earlier mentioned uncomfortable breakfast lounge is a point. But hey.... we only eat breakfast there so that is only 20min a day! Add a perfect freshly brewed Italian coffee to this situation and you forget it quite soon.
Good sized room and a good working airco and Wifi. Tidy and clean which makes you feel comfortable quite soon. All felt quite new as well. Rather hard bed but we prefer this, especially after a long day walk in the city. Good shower and we did not hear anything from the other rooms. Our room (302) was equipped with a small accessible balcony. A very nice feature we found out. Until late in the evening it was a perfect place to sit outside, relax and look at the traffic and all the people coming and going to the navigli.

Definitely a good hotel looking at the price and what it offers! Would really recommend it to anybody going to Milano and want's to have a nice situated 'home-base'.
