“Good rooms but inconvenient location for tourists”
Reviewed July 5, 2014 via mobile

This place more lik a hostel with plush rooms, the room is a studio apartment with all the facilities but it is quite far from the city centre and all the shopping, there is no eatery around and can be quite deserted at night, had to walk a distance to the nearest metro station also.

This place is awful. Let me start by saying that we are a family with children and we chose this hotel because it is close to the airport and we needed to catch an early flight. That about sums up the advantages of this place. When we arrived at 2 pm we found out that the room was not ready for us. We wanted to use the bathroom and give the kids lunch, after a long drive and we couldn't do it and had to go out with them. The rooms are converted basements, so there is no air from the outside and the whole place smells awful. The bed was terrible, we barely slept. We could also hear and feel the subway driving beneath us at night as we turned in our beds.
Also as reported here reception closes down at 8 pm, so be aware. When we arrived at 8 the door was locked. Good thing we had a key.

We are a group of 5 friends. Milan is the first city we arrived. It was very hard to find the place where is able to accommodate all of us in the reasonable price.

Journey: From Airport- Hotel = around 90 euro by taxi. it's far from the airport around 40 min drive.
From Hotel- City centre (D'uomo) = There is a tram station 2 min walking from the hotel and the ticket cost only 1.5 euro. Around 10 minutes, you will arrive the city center. Don't forget to valid your tram ticket on the machine on the tram if you you will get a fine of 26.5 euro as we got!!! and no one try to speak English specially the police.

Room: We got an apartment which can accommodate all of us. It was very nice and spacious and fully equipped with stove, dish, sink, fridge and everything you need. The bathroom is very nice with build-in closet. Our room was a duplex one which means you have two floor in the room. We had a very pleasant stay there and will choose it as our place again.

Cleanliness: The room is clean. I rate it 7.5/10 as only under bed is dusty but other part was perfect since the entrance

Staff: They were very helpful and are able to speak English well.

Price: Not su sure about it as we paid in advance. It's not more than 35 euro each but because it is a big room that's why it was so cheap but I don't know for the double or triple one.

this hotel is in good location, near to metro station, near to super market, normally u can get free parking on the main road, rooms are big and kitchen is also good, however when we went there in mid of may 2013 it was hot and we have been told that A/C will be on from june 1 , because of this we suffer a lot, it was to hot in the room and we had big mosquitos in the room. staff on the reception was a gr8 guy. he is ready to help in any way. INTERNET was working fine.

Room Tip: check if the Air condition is working or not if you are going in summer to this hotel.

We had a bit of a mishap before getting to the apartment- we hadn't realised that you are unable to check-in after 9pm so ended up spending a long time on the phone to booking.com to sort this. No refund was given for the night that we couldn't stay and we had to book another hotel on top of this (the ibis at Milan airport).

Despite this mishap (which was our own fault as we hadn't checked the check-in time), the apartment was lovely. We were a group of five 20-21 year old girls looking for a cheap hotel so at 20euro a night this was perfect.

The apartments are close to the metro & tram. The kitchen facilities were good apart from having to ask for a corkscrew & buying our own washing up liquid. The shower was amazing, towels and shampoo provided. The atmosphere was warm and it was very quiet & spotlessly clean - you really do have your own space; it's an open space; balcony upstairs and kitchen-come-living area/bedrooms downstairs. This was great for us as a group of friends but might not be as good for people who want their own privacy. The receptionist was very helpful & welcoming, gave us a map and recommended where to go & how to get there.

Overall a great experience - I just wish we'd been able to stay the two nights we'd booked!!

-----
NOTE: in Milan metro stations beware of pickpockets- people stand at the machines to "help" you buy your tickets and steal your change as it comes out.

The apartment is exactly as advertised, and the floor plan is accurate. The interior is new and clean. We did not use the kitchen facilities, but they were reasonable for a small space. For the area, the price we paid was very good.

We stayed in a one bedroom, and brought our own beds for our baby and toddler. There was plenty of floor space in the living area for the children's beds.

There is no door between the bedroom and the living area, which was fine for us.

The receptionist was reasonable. He made sure we knew how to get in and out, and use the lights. Unfortunately he didn't tell us about the heating, so we were cold all night. This, however, was our fault, as we simply didn't turn on the radiators.

Parking in the area is typical for Milano -- difficult to find a spot.
Access to the Piola metro stop is very reasonable on foot.

We were nervous about the other reviews reporting noise, but we only heard noise from the hallway, and nothing from the neighboring rooms.

We arrived at Marpensa Airport from Seoul, Korea a couple of ten minutes after 6 in the evening of Dec.26, 2013 . Then we got on about 7:40 subway. Arriving in Milan Centrale Station around 8:40, we were in the line of taxi. We jumped into a taxi, which was Toyota Prius that was the same car as I drive in Japan. In 10 minutes we were at the front of Residenza Città Studi. It was
about 9:20. Immediately we felt something strange. The front door was locked and we noticed noboy inside. A sign inside says OPENING HOURS:8:00am-9:00pm. We were very surprised. We already not only paid through the internet but it was also after 9:00at the first night in Italy. No hotels were around us. But fortunately the taxi driver was watching us at a loss. He got off the taxi and called the number shown at the front door. He talked and talked over the phone for 10 minutes. The middled aged driver finally said, "Wait here for 10 minutes. The reception , who was reluctant to come at first ,will come." But we doubted it but we desided to be there for at most 30 minutes. While we were waiting in front of the door, a group of 4 or 5 people came and they also decided to wait. In a coplel of minutes a man came and OPEN THE DOOR. We were very lucky. If my wife hadn't given a couple of Euro to the taxi driver, what would we have been?
The hotel is very nice and clean. It's quite. The room is spacious for a family of 4 people. But the opening hours. As is often the case where the flight is delayed. Please remember this.
In Milan it was the best town while we stayed in Italy. Don't miss the Christmas Market. At that time we had thought Christmas market at other cities such as Firenze or Naples would be much better. But that wasn't the case. Do have a good time in Milan.

Room Tip: Nothing special
