Owner description: Tickets to view Leonardo Da Vinci's Last Supper go on sale three months in advance and sell out quickly, although it's sometimes possible to buy tickets closer to your visit. If you don't manage to purchase tickets on your own, consider visiting The Last Supper as part of a tour. It's much more expensive, but worth it if you don't want to miss out.

The history of this painting and its restoration are remarkable. This was a "bucket list" item for me and was well worth it. Be sure to book in advance, as only 30 people are allowed in per 15 minute time slot. The building in which the painting is housed has been outfitted with temperature and humidity control and airlocks, so even the engineering going into the building is really interesting.

The larger than life opposing walls of the church were the main features of the exhibit. There was enough time given between groups to sit with the work from various distances. Reservations for viewing must be made several months in advance. After reading Dan Brown's book, the visual was present or what the book has us seeing.

I've never claimed to be an art lover, let alone to understand the intricacies or details of how it all works, but there is something about Leonardo da Vinci that crosses all levels of understanding, and allows everyone to appreciate what they are looking at.

You can get a lot closer than you can to, say, the Mona Lisa, which is nice considering The Last Supper is already about 100 times bigger. They also only let you in in small groups (hence why I booked this in March using the dodgily translated page on the booking site) so there's no overcrowding, and they have benches so you can sit and appreciate it from a bit further back.

It's kind of crazy to think that the monks sat and ate in that hall every day, probably thinking nothing of the amazing painting at the end of the hall.

For something that is over 600 years old, it feels unbelievably current, almost like you don't step back in time while viewing it, but instead you pull it forward to now, to the present. It's honestly quite incredible.

Even though you have to book this well in advanced, it should be on your bucket list. You will only have 15 minutes to look at the Last Supper, but it is amazing to see.

Remember to book this well in advance. It is more beautiful than I expected. I am not a religious person but this is an exceptionally beautiful and spiritual masterpiece.
