We decided sort of at the last minute to visit The Last Supper and, owing to the fact we went in the winter, we were able to get tickets only two weeks before traveling to Milan. In the summer you'll need to get them much earlier than that. It was well worth our time going there, even though we're not particularly religious, as it is an iconic piece of art, and was fascinating to see. The restrictions on entry worked very well as far as we were concerned, making the experience more enjoyable. If you're going to Milan, I recommend you visit this masterpiece.
