I chose this hotel as I took my husband to Milan for a birthday present. He is into contemporary design, me not so much. Our room reminded me of Videodrome, but I coped with it! The important thing was that my husband liked it, and he did!
The bathroom was really nice actually, and I liked all the panels with things hiding away. No need to take shower gel or moisturiser because you get a huge bottle! Part of the hotel's eco-friendly attempts. It saves on all those little refillable ones.
We stayed in a standard double room. It was a decent size, though I did expect it to be a bit bigger after looking at the hotel's website, and TA of course. The mirrors definitely make the rooms seem bigger. Our room was by the lift though, so I did notice a lot of noise during the night. My husband slept through it. In fact, one night someone arrived in the room next door, and it sounded like they were trying to get into our room! They were, but because of the way the doors are they rattle each other. So, don't freak out too much if that happens. There is some building works a couple of doors along, and that starts up weekday mornings around 9. So you may not get a lie in!
We were B&B, but didn't have breakfast in the hotel. Or any other food actually. We did use the bar though. Prices seemed to vary according to who was serving at the bar and what time it was. Also, one night I asked for a drinks menu and was told there wasn't one, so asked for a cocktail. The bartender told me they didn't do them, even though most of the people in the bar were drinking them. He then preceded to make one. Not sure what was up there?! ...
The location of the hotel is excellent, right by the Duomo so that means it's easy to find. It's pretty much attached to the Galleria too, so shops are right there. It's very close to the Sforza castle too, if you are interested in visiting there.
Reception staff were pleasant enough. Remember, you will need to pay a city tax currently EUR10 per night's stay.
In general I was pleased with the hotel. Maybe I'd try somewhere different if I ever return to Milan. Happy travels!
