We booked it since it was close to Milan Central station, but it took us quite long to find it as people around couldn't speak english and they didn't guide us properly; once we found out then it was easy and we found it to be quite near to Milan Central station. The staff at reception was friendly and soft-spoken; though regarding whereabouts or any query as to how to go where, he wasn't a big help other than giving us a city map. the free computer use at a corner in the reception was a pleasant help though. Rooms had wi-fi. Room and bathromm were quite okay, room space also okay, we liked it. Breakfast was also okay. Surrounding places didn't have much food options, unless you walk for 15minuted to the Milan Central, surrounding which you have almost all food joints. They let us keep our luggage there while we checked out, which we collected later for our journey to Rome thereafter. All in all, I would say it was value for money.

We stayed at Terminal Hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is about 10 min walk to the Milan Central Station. We booked a room for 3 and was given a room in an old block behind the main hotel. This was great, the room was big and quiet, even the bathroom is of decent size. All the receptionists we met were friendly.

Between the hotel and the central station there are restaurants. There is an Italian restaurant which opens till midnight every day. There is also a Chinese restaurant just diagonally opposite the Terminal Hotel, known as Hong Kong. Don't go there, it is a rip-off. We were there once and we were charge 3 Euros each for Service Charge, 3 Euros each for Chinese Tea and 3 Euros for a bowl of rice. And the portion of food was very small. When we were there that night, we were the only customers, that explained why.

Milan is a great place, we came across many nice and friendly people, at stores and restaurants. Unfortunately there were also pickpockets and conman. One morning when we were boarding a train at central station, a lady pretended she was "lost" and blocked us from moving further into the train, we couldn't get passed her at all. Eventually a teenage girl (possibly 10 years old or so) said something and they went off. When we sat down in the train my wife said her wallet was picked from her bag. We immediately jumped out of the train and gave chase. With the commotion somehow a kind gentleman (with 2 young children, maybe his grand children), caught hold pickpocket (the 10-year old teenage girl), and we were able to get back my wife's wallet. Another kind gentleman came to us and asked us if everything was okay and if we needed help. So travelers, please be careful. As a matter of fact, a few days later when we were in Rome we saw a guy got pick-pocketed, kind of same situation, he jumped out of the train and gave chase. We didn't know the outcome as the train moved on.

We were at Duomo and started taking pictures. A "nice" guy came up to us and gave us dried corn to attract the pigeon for photo taking, I thought that was great. Immediately after that the guy turned nasty and demanded money. I dipped into my pocket thinking I could give him a few coins, he insisted on 20 euros and out of a sudden 2 more of his gang surrounded us. I did not want to risk my life and gave them 20 euros. That was a close shave. So if you are anywhere in Italy don't take the dried corn for photo taking. We saw the same thing in Venice to a group of girls. Fortunately this time, it was a big group of girls and only 2 of the nasty guys. I saw from a distant the girls simply walked away (good for them!!).

As far as hotel is concerned, would I stay at Terminal again? Most definitely, it was great for us.

Room Tip: avoid the chinese restaurant across the hotel. you can get bottled water from a vending machine a fe...

We stayed at this hotel for one night at the end of march. We needed a hotel that was near Milano Centrale as we had an early flight and needed to catch the malpensa express bus in order to take us to malpensa airport. Contrary to other reviews we found this hotel to be good value for money. The location was fine, just a ten minute walk to milan's central train-metro station. The room was small but adequate for what we needed, a sleep and a shower. It had a tv, a safe, a little fridge, a double bed, a hairdryer and a bath (including shower gel, shower cap and soap). It was very warm and clean. The only minuses which we didn't mind at all , were that the tv only had italian channels and the lack of view from out bedroom window. The staff was very helpful, informing us about taking the right train into the central shopping area etc. The wifi worked in all the hotel areas, even in our room (we stayed on the first floor). The breakfast was served from 7 am, and had all you could really ask for (tea, coffee, toast, all kinds of cereal, croissant, cake, cheese, salami, jam, honey etc). Dont forget to pay the city tax before you leave!! All in all, a pleasant stay in hotel terminal.

The decent: Decent location if traveling into and out of Milano Centrale. The second star is given only because of the quality of the breakfast, which was great, but even then, the staff was so inept that they never noted we had breakfast included in our stay, which prompted me to bring down the laptop to the breakfast room to show our reservation details stating our breakfast was included.

The bad: Cramped room, rude staff that repeatedly gave us incorrect wifi passwords, wifi didn't work until the last night of our stay, no remote control for the TV, and the most uncomfortable bed I slept on in all of Italy. It's not a place we'll be staying at again.

I am here now On February 24th 2012. At first I was pleasantly surprised with the modern furnishings and cleanliness. I had read on Trip Advisor previously about the NEGATIVES. I chose to stay because of the proximity to Milan Central. Then I tried to use the phone and found it was not working, and I wanted a wake up call. It is room 124. All I got from the nasty front desk clerk was sorry. So I asked if they were going to bang on my door for a WAKE UP CALL...THEY SAID YES....DEPENDING ON THE OUT COME....THIS COULD BE PART ONE OF A 2 PART REVIEW.
Oh yes evidently they do not understand the concept of MULTITASKING......EITHER!!!
The internet passwords correspond to the floor you are on....THE FRONT DESK DOESN'T TELL YOU THAT....

Room Tip: Check to see that all amenities are available before unpacking....
