Our local friends recommended the place. You’ll laugh, but we’ve been there twice. Both times were awful.
We went there without our Italian friends for the first time, just two of us. We don’t speak Italian and the personnel didn’t even bother to understand English. It’s impossible to get the waiter; he just ignores you. Looks like after getting the P&L they just loose the interest in you. Or maybe it’s because we didn’t speak Italian and they didn’t like us for that. I don’t know, but the result was sad.
The second time our local friends insisted we go there with them, just for a glass of wine and some dessert. We agreed, as it’s almost impossible to spoil the thing when you do this kind of stuff. You get your glass and just don’t care. But they managed to surprise all of us. They just told us that we are not getting a table, because you have to eat there, not just drink vine and have a dessert, because it’s a restaurant. They were even so kind to tell us to go to a dirty pub around the corner, if we want to drink. So sweet of them.
Combined with typical Italian practice – coperto – fixed tips for whatever kind of service you get, that was the worst restaurant experience in Italy so far.
If you want to go there, don't count for any kind of romantic atmosphere. It's more suited for very loud big groups of friends.
