“Loved the location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

We were here for 3 days in February and enjoyed the stay. The staff in all departments are very helpful and very polite. The receptionist even remembered me from a previous stay - I'm ashamed to say that this was not reciprocal. Nervous smiles on check in!

The room (123) was a good size with decent closet space and a small safe (not large enough for a laptop, an iPad barely fits in). There are regular two prong European plugs in the bathroom and under the desk, as opposed to the three pronged Italian ones. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room as well as a mini bar, neither of which we used.

Breakfast is a big affair with a lot of choice including scrambled or boiled eggs on the buffet stand. Breakfast is crewed by a very keen and fast moving team!

Though not a big deal, free wifi internet is by way of one hour coupon codes available on the reception desk, just grab a few as and when you need them. Alternatively, on the last day I discovered them also being left on the computer desks in the bar area.

The neighbourhood is the best thing about this hotel. There is such a variety of eateries and bars. During our stay the canal was empty of water but I think this is a regular thing for winter. Getting to grips with the Metro system was easy. This hotel is served by PT.A Genova FS station on the green line and getting to the Duomo and the center is just one quick change onto the red line.

We found this hotel a comfortable way to see Milan with ease of access to the Metro system and the abundant supply of restaurants of all kinds in the area.

Room Tip: Room 123 is directly in front of a service room - either housekeeping or maintenance - and can be no...

The hotel itself is really nice with spacious, modern, clean and comfortable bedrooms.
Food wise - OMG. I'm sure this applies to the entire country as it's part of the culture but I was still amazed by the aperitivo served every evening in the lobby/living area downstairs... It's a buffet style thing with a selection of cheeses, crackers, bruschetta breads, nuts and a complimentary drink from the bar. Really nice. Great breakfast too.

(There is a really nice bar across the road too with amazing cocktails - try their famous ginger cocktail)

Be aware though that NOTHING happens in the area during the day - it's seriously dead. If you want to be close to the Duomo, shops, museums or other attractions you're better off staying in the centre of the city. Or you can just get a bus or the train, which is very easily accessible too.

The area is great for an evening out... it 'wakes up' at around 6 and goes on until late - Infinite bar and restaurant options with great photo opportunities along the canal.

10 good reasons to go to the Art Hotel Navigli:

- The staff is very friendly and the receptionist was very helpful.
- The area is lively, even in the winter, full of restaurants, cafés etc.
- The 'aperitivi': you pay 10 euros a cocktail and have buffet style food illimited with.
A kind of 'Happy Hour' you can find in Navigli.
- The bedrooms are clean, the bed is kingsized (two beds stuck together but it is OK)
- A cocktail (Martini+orange juice) is offered at your arrival + snacks
- The breakfast buffet has a multitude of choice! Croissants, pains au chocolat, cheese, orange juice, cappucino, tea, cakes, bread, eggs, fruits, fruit salad, ham, etc. Nearly everything.
- It is two minutes walk from the underground station, and in two stops you're at the palace, 4 stops you're at the Duomo.
- The underground parking is offered (only tourists tax to pay but only 4 euros per person for a week end)
- Beautiful reception and hall with art sculptures and paintings.
- Easy of access, 5 min from the motorway.

Room Tip: I think the upper rooms are better, as renovated.

Had 4 nights at the Art Hotel Navigli at the end of a 2 week cycling tour into Milan. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hotel was clean, staff were efficient and friendly (cleaning staff were especially friendly). The location is great for eating out with hundreds of restuarants and cafes within easy walking distance along the canal and adjacent side streets, Metro is close and it was only a 10 min trip into the centre of Milan. We were upgraded to a suite, which was huge and we really couldn't have asked for anything better.

Located in amazing position near the awsome Naviglio Grande, not far from the underground station as well as bus and tram stops, this hotel has finely decorated spacious rooms, with beautiful bathrooms. Huge comfortable beds and all room facilities included.
Nice staff who welcome you with a drink.
The hall and the rooms are scented.
Marvellous buffet breakfast including both Italian and continental breakfasts.
Perfect for a lazy weekend to be spent in bed 'til late!

This hotel is perfect for families and it's only 20 minutes away from the Milan Linate airport by taxi. There's a well stock mini supermarket just across the road from the hotel if you ever need some quick nibbles and bubblies. Location is excellent as it is just a stone throw to the trams and metro which makes it ideal to explore the rest of Milan. What stood out for me was the size of the rooms and decor with contemporary style furnishing. The rooms were very clean with ample towels and you can also have a bathrobe on request. Also, the maids were very polite and says hello each time. Wide variety of delicious buffet breakfast, croissants, pastries, scrambled eggs, rolls, ham etc. the list is endless. You can have variety of fruit juices. On arrival we were offered a complimentary drink a choice of alcoholic or non alcoholic beverages. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. There is also unlimited access to the internet. However there's a down side with the internet because you have to obtain a voucher from the reception each time you have to log on lasting an hour. This I found very annoying as you have to re-log after every hour. That's about the only down side. The cost of the room is all inclusive with breakfast. I'll definitely go there again. By the way it's also very close to the christmas shop Ecliss.

Room Tip: fourth floor is good as breakfast is served there!

Easy to get to and good location to explore Milan. Don't be put off by the entry which doesn't make justice. The rooms are big and confortable altough the amenities could be better -they're quite scarce.
Hotel staff is polite and helpful.
Breakfast offered good variety and no extra costs.
the whole canal area is great for a good taste of italian food.
Don't miss the aperitive ...... everywhere in Milano is a good experience. Try Aperol Spritz or Campari orange (both bitter but really great)
