“Perfect service, kind and cheerful staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 6, 2014

I was there for work for only one night. As soon as I entered the hotel, without saying a single word, the nice girl at the reception welcomed me as she was waiting for me to come later, (I arrived at 10 am) and that I would have waited for 30 mins to have my bedroom. She gave me the password for the wifi, and asked me to take place in the waiting room. The room was cleaned and silent. When I came back in the hotel after visiting the city, the guy at the reception gave me the key to my room without me asking for them, as I entered the hotel and wished me a good night. I was really impressed by the kindness and cheerfulness of all the staff members. The position of the hotel is perfect, really close to the subway station and not too far from the city center. I recommend it for everyone who needs a nice hotel and wants to spend a pleasant night in Milan.

Very nice small hotel. The owner and his sister were both very helpful with ideas of things to see in Milan and highlighted them on a good map they gave us. Small, comfortable room with good storage space. Elevator. Nice breakfast. Less than 5 min walk from Metro where the train ran every 3-7 minutes. Less than 10 minute walk to bus stop for a non stop bus to airport for 10 euros.

Stayed here for a Convention and the staff was amazing! They were super helpful in helping us find shopping and food places! They are super close to the convention center, and 5 min walk to the metro stop lotto! I also liked that the milano express and milano shuttle is a 10min walk away from the hotel. So you can go from the airport straight to the hotel, makes it so much easier than taking a train and then a metro. The breakfast was awesome! They had a lot of variety and a real cappuccino machine for an authentic coffee! They made us feel like home! Definitely going back next year and anytime I need to stay in Milan.

Period of Stay: 17th Dec - 20th Dec 2013 (3 nights)
Cost (PER NIGHT): 48.1 Euros (including taxes - the city tax is 4 Euros - via Booking.com) for a single room (Room 104)

+ points:
(1) Location - less than 5 minutes from the Lottofiera metro station and fairly easy to find this place (use Google Map for reference!) Take the exit that says "P. Uccello" and "Via Monte Bianco" and when you walk straight ahead you will be at Piazzale Lorenzo Lotto so head left and then you should see Oro Blue Hotel Milan. Facing this hotel, look right and you will see a big blue sign showing where Hotel Lido is! It's more like 200-300 meters though I think from the metro, not 100 as they put on Booking.com.

This place is quite convenient because when you go to / come from Malpensa Airport using the Malpensa Express, you will finish / start at Cadorna FN Triennale metro station on the red line (line 1) and Lottofiera is on the red line also about 10 minutes away.

(2) Very friendly and helpful staff.

(3) The wifi was very fast and reliable and though you need to get a password for each device you want to use and it is only for 12 hours, it's not a problem and you can just get another password.

(4) Generally clean (though bath cubicle floor seem to have a bit of stain / discoloration) and quiet.

(5) Breakfast was pretty decent buffet spread - though after 3 days it could be a bit boring. Nice croissants (loved the chocolate and cream), various bread/bun, various standard types of meat such as ham, yogurt, cereal, cake, and fruits.

- point:
(1) The shower head kept leaking every time after I bathed.

Overall I think it is pretty decent value for money considering quite a few of the accommodations I have seen in Milan are either too crazily expensive or are hostels.

The hotel is close to a metro station and to the Congress centre 'Milano Congressi'. Excellent when attending a meeting there. Rooms were clean, not very large, but definitely good enough. Staff was very friendly! They recommended restaurants and further travel destinations.

I stayed in this hotel for 5 days in August and it was a great place to stay. The hotel is ideally located for the Milan Congress venue nearby. The hotel was nice and clean and rooms were very quiet. The breakfast was very tasty with a big selection. The staff were extremely friendly and made me feel very welcome. I would definitely recommend staying here.
