We spent 3 nights Milano recently and we were delighted with Hotel Sanpi. The service was warm, friendly and constant. The beautiful garden court yard was perfect for an apperitivo before dinner. The one night we had dinner there was equally delightful. The food was excellent and the service matched. The staff were always ready with useful information and suggestions and spoke English, although we exercised out Italian with them.

Room Tip: Our room was on the ground floors acing the street. While the windows are double glazed and the blin...

Excellent hotel in Milan quirky features.beautiful court yard for before dinner drinks and cafe after an enjoyable breakfast Staff very helpful especially Domenico at front desk would recommend
Close to vegetarian Restaurant Joia which is artistically amazing but food did not match expectations.
Smokers a problem in the courtyard and impinged on breakfast as well as the smoke drifted to breakfast area. Should be excluded from all eating areas world wide.

Room Tip: We had a large balcony room with sitting area unfortunately could not view French tennis open Only...

We spent three nights here at the end of May and we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and spoke good English, the location is close to all the main attractions and to the Metro, The room was clean, good size and had a balcony, Huge comfy bed and air conditioning. Breakfast had a wide range of meats and cheeses along with fruits, cereal and croissants. And the courtyard was nice for sitting out in the evening with a glass of wine. Would highly recommend and plan to stay here again next time we visit Milan.

Room Tip: 110 has a balcony and although faces out to the road is quiet (except 6am on Thursday which is bin d...

Stayed here for one week in late May. Staff was awesome. All were friendly and helpful, great recommendations for dining, and Mauro helped with everything we needed. Location is close to shops and great restaurants, as well as parking. Wonderful patio to relax and have a drink with friends/colleagues.

Stayed at this hotel for 7 days mid May 2013, first room had twin beds and was on the smaller side of what we would like for a longer stay. We asked to be moved into larger room and the staff (especially Mauro) were more than happy to do this, he was also very helpful with other things such as checking up on train times, booking restaurants etc. The room we moved to was large, spacious, had a very comfortable King size bed, room had two large windows, 1 looking to rear and 1 into garden courtyard, quiet and with a good sized bathroom with window into courtyard also. Room was well equipped, safe, spare pillows, blanket, hairdryer etc. and was kept clean and tidy as were all common areas. Breakfast choices were good and should suit most tastes, you can also choose some other items at a small additional cost if you fancy something a bit different. Christian in the bar area could not be more polite or accommodating and was great to speak with. You can have drinks and canapés, or if you ask the staff (one of the lovely ladies who also do breakfast) will make you a snack or Panini from the menu, these can be served in the bar area or in the garden courtyard area which is quite a little oasis in the centre of the hotel. Most of the staff speak good English and are very helpful, polite and willing to assist you. The fitness room (in great brick vaulted area) was also very good and well equipped with changing & shower facilities. The area around the hotel may look a little unsettling, however do not be put off as you should not have any problems or feel unsafe, we walked around late into the evening and felt very safe. There are 2 underground stations within about 5 minutes walk of the hotel and the main Train Station (Centrale) is only a 15 minute walk or 10 Euro cab ride away. There are some good bars and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, Antica Osteria Cavallini (restaurant) was very good (5 mins. away near Sanpi's sister hotel), just ask the staff on the desk. We would stay here again if we return to Milan and would recommend to family or friends.

Room Tip: Ask for room at rear of hotel overlooking quiet courtyard, these are quieter.

Stayed here the first weekend in May 2013. It is a great wee hotel, with very friendly, English speaking staff.
Some of the surrounding streets may appear a bit scruffy or even "worrying" looking, but please ignore that, we stayed for 3 nights and had no hassle. The hotel itself is actually very quiet and peaceful, the garden/courtyard in particular is unbelievably tranquil! Breakfast is good and we actually opted to take our food outside to the garden rather than the breakfast room, an option the staff were happy to help out with. Our room initially looked small but is actually pretty ideal for a couple. It was very comfy, modern, kept very clean and had everything you could need for a weekend away.
The metro stops are only at the end of the road and it's only a few stops (5-7 min's) to the Duomo with tickets only 3 euros for two people.
If you choose to walk instead it'll still only take you 10-15 min's to get to the centre of the city and any of the routes are pretty straight forward, including the option to walk through a big park.
So basically, great wee hotel in a handy location with good staff and good rooms! (p.s. the Italian restaurant "Il carpaccio" on the other side of the street is a hidden gem and well worth a visit)
