Stayed here the first weekend in May 2013. It is a great wee hotel, with very friendly, English speaking staff.
Some of the surrounding streets may appear a bit scruffy or even "worrying" looking, but please ignore that, we stayed for 3 nights and had no hassle. The hotel itself is actually very quiet and peaceful, the garden/courtyard in particular is unbelievably tranquil! Breakfast is good and we actually opted to take our food outside to the garden rather than the breakfast room, an option the staff were happy to help out with. Our room initially looked small but is actually pretty ideal for a couple. It was very comfy, modern, kept very clean and had everything you could need for a weekend away.
The metro stops are only at the end of the road and it's only a few stops (5-7 min's) to the Duomo with tickets only 3 euros for two people.
If you choose to walk instead it'll still only take you 10-15 min's to get to the centre of the city and any of the routes are pretty straight forward, including the option to walk through a big park.
So basically, great wee hotel in a handy location with good staff and good rooms! (p.s. the Italian restaurant "Il carpaccio" on the other side of the street is a hidden gem and well worth a visit)

We stayed at this property for 2 nights in early May 2013. All staff we encountered were friendly and efficient. The hotel is within walking distance of 2 train stations and a tram line.
Our room (and bathroom) was clean, large and modern. We thought it was very quiet though that may have been because the room was at the back of the property. The room had a safe and small fridge. Though advertised as individual self-controlled air-conditioning, it did not decrease in temperature. Fortunately windows were able to be opened to cool the room. The room came with free wi-fi.

Room Tip: Room 315 is a corner room and is at the back of the hotel overlooking the courtyard and residential...

I had the oppurtunity to stay in Hotel Sanpi Milano for a night !
The hotel is located right in the heart of the city good for just an overnight stay.
Didnt like the Breakfast at all, very limited choice !

overall I'd say just ok if you want to spend the night in Milan on a budget !

We found this hotel quite nice although our first night there we were in a room that was overlooking the road with a noisy bar across the road. We asked to be moved and then we were given a beautiful room on the other side of the hotel which was fantastic.
Breakfast in this hotel is very nice and the staff were very very friendly and accommodating. I dont think the neighbourhood is that great around this hotel but other than that it was very comfortable.
Dinner was also very nice at this hotel and would recommend it.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room that doesnt overlook the road.

This hotel was clean and comforatable, our room a superior was not very spacious but the bed was very good and the hotel linen spotless

Location is a good 20 minute walk, to the centre of milan catherdral square the walk through the park is pleasant during the day but does not feel quite as safe at night.

The little courtyard garden had hard chairs in the shade for most of the day the only outside space, indoors there is plenty of comfortable seating.

Room Tip: a room overlooking the garden is best

The hotel was, like it said, 12 minutes' walk from the central railway station. We stayed on the 5th floor. The room was big and modern. We liked the huge bathroom and we enjoyed the jacuzzi bath after our long days out. However, the drainage was slow. The bed was comfortable, big, firm but not hard.

The room was quiet and blackout blinds were effective. Air conditioning was good. TV channels include the BBC, RT, France 24, the Italian News and NKH. The batteries in the remote control needed changing.

Breakfast was good. There was no hot food, apart from boiled eggs, but there was a selection of croissants, cold meat, cheese, roasted aubergine, zucchini, capsicum and other usual breakfast items.

Wifi was free and there was a PC for use in an enclosed space. We were able to print out our boarding pass. Staff were polite and friendly. Local hotel tax cost 4 euro per person per night.

We stayed 5 nights in Milan, enjoying the shopping centers, museums, the cathedral, churches and also the parks. We liked the views from the roof of the cathedral. It cost 7 euro each to walk up the 250 steps. The steps were wide enough for two people passing each other and it was not as strenuous as going up steps in some of the castles in Wales.

The most memorable trip was a day on the Bernina Pass Railway from Milan which I 'll review later.

The shuttle train from Milan to Malpensa Airport cost 10 euro each. There were many self-service machines in the railway station which we were helped to use by an unoffical attendant, who then asked for a tip.

A friend and I have just spent 3 nights in the Sanpi Milano and had an excellent stay. Out room was clean and comfortable with a shower that worked very well. Breakfast was really good (although we did have trouble getting them to give us boiling water for our tea) and we had 1 nice meal which was served in the beautiful garden room. We liked the fact that when we had a drink in the bar, there were complementary 'nibbles'. However, the best thing was the brilliant service in reception from giving us directions (map included) to booking a meal for us. Walking distance from the centre and we felt perfectly safe walking around the area.

Room Tip: Try to avoid a room that looks onto the road
