“Basic”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

Amenities in the the room were basic and the washroom was nice and big, nice view of the courtyard as well. Breakfast which was included with our stay was more than anyone could have asked for. Close to subway etc. Room was also air conditioned. The only downside were the washroom towlels which had holes in them, (ew). If you're just passing through this place will get the job done.

We picked this hotel due to its close proximity to the train station, backpacking around this is really important to us. It is about a 5-10 minute walk, it can be difficult to find, the map we had was rather bad, not the hotel's fault I know.

The location of the hotel is quite good, that is a plus. We went to one room on the fourth floor, the aircon did not work, the receptionist immediately moved us to a room on the first floor. Excellent drills there, he was fast and efficient in moving us however why not put us on the first floor straight away? We had a lot of bags and backpacks etc and that would of been more convenient for us from the onset.

The rooms were quite different between the two, the first room had a much bigger and better bathroom but the aircon worked well in the second room. The second room also had items in the mini bar, the first room did not, I was a bit confused by the non conformity of this hotel.

The breakfast was the worst breakfast I have had in European Hotels. Lack of food choice, food ran out fast due to many people eating it and only one guy working the floor who was running around doing the best he could but he definitely could of used a hand.

The front desk staff were good, one guy however was a loose cannon, he got into a yelling match with someone I assume was a customer right infront of us. Not cool or professional dude, take the guy to another room or a quiet corner and speak to him civilly or call a manager. We dealt with this guy several times and he treated us like we were a bother, when we asked questions he did not seem to care on weather the answer helped us.

The other main problem I had was when I walk out of the shower and there is a huge window with no curtain, no covering etc looking straight into an adjacent apartment block. I had to hang a towel up so no voyeurs could see in.

The wifi lacked a security certificate, you had to stuff around with it for an hour to log on. The receptionist (guess who?) gave us a code but failed to activate it on his end. The wifi lagged when we did get on, added further bad points to the stay.

I would not stay at this hotel again, if it was not for the location, they would of gotton one out of five. Hotel Demo which is very close to Club Hotel looked really nice and it was around the same price. The price at Club Hotel is reasonably priced but I guess you get what you pay for in this case because our stay at Club Hotel was disappointing.

We only stayed for one night so the location was very convenient - it is less than 5 min from the train station and airport bus stop (the quickest way to the airport bus stop is straight under the railway tracks) and also a short direct metro ride to the Duomo. The neighbourhood is not particularly nice but didn't feel unsafe at any time.

We booked online with a discounted rate so the hotel was excellent value for money. If I was expecting a 3 star hotel (according to the sign outside) I might have been a little dissapointed but for the price we paid it was a very nice hotel. The room and bathroom were modern but lacking character and relatively small. However we slept well (quiet, not too much light, decent bed) which is all that really matters.

The breakfast was OK though the pastries didn't taste very fresh.

My only other small complaint is that the luggage storage area didn't seem very secure (in the open at the bottom of the stairs where many people might pass by) so I wouldn't leave anything valuble there.

We were only passing through Milan so the location close to the Milan Centrale train station was perfect. It isn't a good neighborhood so not recommended for anyone actually visiting the city. We chose Club Hotel also because it had quad rooms for our family with two adult children so it was economical. The weather in late June was warm but the room thermostat was locked at a temperature a bit too warm for comfort, especially with four adults in one room. We were happy with the price and the breakfast buffet was satisfying.

Hotel clean and nice, bathroom nice, yes wifi cost 5 euro password is your room number and last name or want free go out side across street on corner. Breakfast was great staff at breakfast was helpful. The front desk guy stupid and not so helpful he wouldn't let me check out the nite before because I was leaving the next day... He sent me on a wild goose case for last supper tickets. When the museum is closed on Monday. The hotel is close to rail station.

First of all, I must say the area this hotel is in- which is close to the Milan Centrale train station- is a terrible area. We thought we were going to get mugged walking to the hotel by the bums sitting outside who were fighting with each other and throwing things at people walking by.

We were booked to stay at the Hotel Demo but after arriving at the Hotel they told us we were actually staying at their "sister" hotel around the corner-- Club Hotel. We had read about this in the reviews but stupidly booked anyways. We were not notified of the change ahead of time. When we arrived at the hotel, there were about 4 people working the front desk... none of which were very friendly. They asked for our passports and since they were "busy," asked to keep them and for us to come back down in 30 minutes when they had time to process them. Once we finally made it to the room, we could barely get the door unlocked. The room had a flat screen tv but yet no updated bedding or window fixtures. The cleanest part of the room was the bathroom. Our window was broken-- luckily we were on the third floor and were able to wedge something against it. We did not feel safe here in any way. We also moved a piece of furniture in front of the door as well. The place was very loud... you could hear people coming and going at all hours of the night. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. We have stayed in many hostels around the world that were safer and cleaner than this place. This is our only complaint out of the 8 total places we stayed on our trip.

I chose Club Hotel because of its proximity to Centrale Stazione, its price, and the fact that it has triple rooms. I was traveling with my sister and my brother (all of us between the ages of 18 and 25) and we found Club Hotel to be a perfect fit.

The hotel is in an excellent location - less than a 10 minute walk from Central Station (so close to the metro, trains, and shuttles to the airports) and the neighborhood seemed safe. The staff was friendly when we checked in, and later when we had questions about internet access. Our room was nothing special, but it was very clean, spacious, and we had a wide range of television channels... if you're interested in watching Italian television. Also, air conditioning! That helped to cool the room in the June heat.

One of the best parts was the breakfast spread in the morning. There was a wide range of breakfast treats! It was the perfect way to start our day.

I would recommend this hotel to any budget traveler who isn't looking for too many frills in Milano.
