Being an expat in Milan, I often have cravings for non-Italian and despite all the attempts over the past few years to open up to international food, Milan still lags behind other European cities. What I like about 'Al Mercato' is that it really is the most genuine attempt to address this issue, and they are doing a very, very good job. It is also one of the few places in Milan where English is spoken (perfectly). I would definitely recommend this place and will be going back. Please note that the place is very small so not really suitable for large groups.
