“It's ok for a hotel”
Reviewed February 17, 2014

I stayed here in February during the BIT Fair. As a hotel it's ok: clean, good staff, good breakfast etc. The rooms are too large but an average size, with all the ammenities, safebox, LCD TV, A/C, minibar, etc. The bathroom has a shower. There is free Wifi at the hotel, just ask for its password at the reception.

The hotel is about 600/700 meters walking to the subway (Lotto station). The hotel is located very close to the old fair grounds (Fiera Milano).

Those of you who have to work the trade show circuit, especially whilst fighting a 9+ hour time change, you mostly just want a hotel that is close enough to walk back to in the evening, is clean, good wifi connection, and friendly staff. The Mini Portello fits the bill perfectly. Bathrooms are clean, the breakfast in the morning is quite basic, but has enough to get you through the day. Not too many restaurants near there, and they don't have any room service at night. Next time I have to work another trade-show in Milano, I will stay there again. Also, the day I had to leave, the taxi drivers where on strike, so the staff at the hotel made quite a few calls and found someone willing to get me to Linate in a private car, huge help!

Room Tip: If staying in winter, get a lower-level room. High level rooms get VERY hot at about 2am after all...

Close to Milano Fiera is perfect for who has event there. Once there you don't need taxi or public transport.
Clean and cheap with all basic services as free wifi and stuffs like that.
The breakfast is full of choice and che staff is kind and professional

This hotel is conveniently located if you are attending a conference at the convention center a few blocks away, but is out of the way if you are visiting Milan for any other reason. There is not much to do in the neighborhood, although there are a few good restaurants in walking distance. The rooms are ok, but rather small. Breakfast is good and staff is helpful and friendly.

Not very pleased with this overpriced hotel, poor location unless your at the convention centre. the rooms are clean and tidy and not a bad size but is lacking tea coffee facilities . I also found it very noisy you can here everything from deliveries to toilets flushing and doors shutting. one thing I did notice was how quickly they give you your key to your room after you had left it with them for the day I could of been anybody. small bar not very helpful reception staff .no car parking the only decent thing was it had good wifi for free. would I stay here again ? not if I was booking a hotel.

Room Tip: do not book one at the rear overlooking the court yard. very noisy

Pros - excellent front desk staff, free WiFi, free breakfast, only a 10 minute walk to a metro station (line 1), OK bed.
Cons - terrible location (not scenic), no restaurant in the hotel and only ONE restaurant in the area (Lo Zenzero, just an average place), uncomfortable plastic chair in the room to sit in while working, heavy old-school room key.
In the end, with so many other places to stay in Milan, I might look elsewhere.

Overpriced (220€) as big convention in Fiera Milano. Very very noisy: you hear all noise from next door room! Small twins beds. As I was staying 4 nights, I gathered the twin beds, every day they took them apart. Poor breakfast, some of the receptionist were nice but not flexible nor accommodating
