“Friendly Hotel, I would sure go back”

Staff is very nice and always willing to help. Rooms are confortable and we had a nice view of the little park across the street. Hotel is a little far from the Duomo and other major attractions but you can get there with a nice walk in 20-30 minutes. Definetely a very good value.

We stayed there for a couple of days in early June, 2012. The hotel was nice and clean but rooms were very tiny, particularly the bathroom shower area and the bedrooms. It was a normal sized room with a partition for the kids and fitted 4 of us (2 adults and 2 little kids). The hotel had everything that you would need, however, if you compare a US 4 star hotels, its not even close. The breakfast was included in our price and was pretty good. The biggest plus were their staff. Extremely friendly and helpful in giving directions to nearby places and railway stations. The closest railway station is Milano Nord domodossola from where we took a direct train to Lake Como. The WIFI is free, however only for one unit. So if you have couple of iphones, ipad and a computer, you need to decide which one needs the connection. I am not sure if this is a standard thing in Europe (at least on all of them we stayed in this trip), which was surprising to us. The location is not all that great, however if you get familiarized with the trams and buses (the hotel staff helped us with this), commuting to the city center is not a big deal. It was also very safe walking to the nearby restaurants late in the night with kids.

The hotel itself is very cosy and nice. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful, speak English which was nice since I don't speak Italian. Rooms are a bit small and there is not enough light. Internet connection is free of charge, but slow (enough for browsing small sites, but when it comes to YouTube or even photos from social networks you can go and make a cup of tea while it is loading). Hotel definitely worth it's price.

Negatives: lousy location, with few nearby restaurants and in a public transit desert. Spotty and slow WiFi (especially top floor). Miniature elevators (fit two comfortably without luggage). Dingy eighties-era furnishings on top floors. No exercise room. Tiny shower stall, and in our room there was poor drainage. Only one key per room (and it's an awkwardly heavy metal key fob... but with hotel name and room number displayed, your stuff will be cleaned out should you lose it!).

Positives: breakfast is excellent quality, with great variety and abundant offerings. Lower-level room (we demanded to be moved from top floor due to WiFi problem) was contemporary in furnishings, but a bit small for a triple. There's a bidet, which some consider a benefit.

Nice and super clean hotel. Great service. The only hard part was to find parking (such a busy area) .

Room Tip: Higher floor's rooms are not so big.

Stayed here as part of a business trip. Staff was friendly and helpful, although I didn't ask them for much other than to call a taxi a few times and give me smaller bills in exchange for my 50 Euro note. I stayed in one of the "standard" rooms and it was tiny but adequate for one person given that I was not spending much time in the room. The breakfast was unremarkable, especially for someone like me who does not eat meat. Fortunately, there is a grocery store a couple of blocks away and I was able to supplement the mostly bread-based buffet with other foods. The location is close to tram, bus, and TrenNord lines, but not subway lines. It's about a 20 minute walk to the Cardona train station where the subway can be accessed. The neighborhood is a mix of apartments and businesses, with many shops and restaurants of various levels.

I stayed here on a business trip at the recommendation of colleagues. Staff were friendly and efficient. When I was checking out the one of the reception staff was giving an American couple detailed travel reommendations. Internet access was free, but bandwidth seemed rather limited. The room had everything I needed and was quiet. The breakfast was unexceptional, but frankly at this price why not treat yourself at one of the nearby by bars for a few Euros more. There seem to be a number of good restarants nearby, I will definitely return to Trattoria dell'Orti in via Senato across the square.
