This hotel was fantastic. I can't rate it highly enough.
Staff, rooms, breakfast and general cleanliness and professionalism is second to none.
We will go back there again.
We travelled from Paris to Milan then on through Venice and Florence and Rome and back to London and this is BY FAR the highlight of the hotel rooms we stayed in.
Don't listen to the negative reviews, because you will miss out on such a delightful place.

Just a side note : You must remember that you are travelling throughout Europe and are not in say, the American type of hotel room. Europe has certain quirks. Not everything is as one should expect it to be, but frankly, if you can't take a bit of culture shock when it comes to hotel rooms, then you need to stay home and surf the Net instead of travelling. Sure, the rooms are budget and they're often more "budget" than many expect, but as long as the room is clean and the staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is filling, there's NOTHING to complain about.

Found this hotel from the Sat nav, booked by phone, the person on the phone told us there was secure parking at the hotel, this was our reason for booking as our car was loaded. We had a very hard time locating, even with Sat nav as there was a lot of road works in the area. On arrival at the hotel, I asked the reception guy how to get into the car park, he very abruptly said car park is full you have to go and park somewhere else. After a heated conversation with my husband the Egyptian porter told my husband he would have a look in the car ark for us a space, he found 2 or 3, problem solved. Our room was pleasant but the curtains and bedspread could do with cleaning,The tub chair was grotty and needed replacing, comfortable bed ok sleep. The bathroom was beautiful and very clean. The breakfast that was included, was nice bacon, scrambled eggs, make your own toast and coffee, nicely presented, the 2 waitress's and 1 waiter stood chatting around the corner and not one of them spoke to us, then about 15 minutes before breakfast finished started to clear everything away. The daytime reception staff were better. Don't think we would go back there.Think 4 star is a bit much, 3 star at the most.

Dear Madam,

We do care about our guests and try our best to make their stay an enjoyable one. A negative attitude like the occasions that you have experienced may spoil all our efforts and we are very grateful to you for having taken the time to inform us.

With reference to the parking, we are sorry that was not checked immediately the real availability and it was not propose, as an alternative, another garage located in front of the hotel.

We are pleased to see that you enjoyed our breakfast with our selection of fresh products and we apologize if the service was not up to your expectations. We are sure you will believe that these kind of events do not reflect our usual way of operating.

We really hope you will give us another chance to demonstrate the quality of our structure and we will be very honoured if you would give us the opportunity to welcome you again in the near future.

Kindest regards

The Menagement

We went to attend a conference at the nearby conference center (about a 15 minute walk) and spent a week. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful and spoke English with us. We used our best Italian phrases (learned from a travel guide while flying to Italy) and they reciprocated by speaking English. The hotel desk area is fairly small and they handle a lot of people so on occasion we had to wait a few minutes for service.

Our room was clean with a desk/chair, television and a stuffed sitting chair. The walls were a little thin meaning we could hear occasional noise from adjacent rooms, but that is our typical experience in Europe and why I normally sleep with earplugs. The bathroom had a great shower but the stall was very small. There were several occasions where my elbow bumped the shower door and it opened; it is THAT small. We were grateful to have a shower because on our last trip to Europe we stayed in a place that had only a tub with a hand-held sprayer which made showering a chore.

They have have wireless internet at the hotel for an extra charge. I am honestly not sure if we had confusion in translation or whether they are running a little bit of a scam with the wireless charges. The first hour is free and after that they sell 4-hour wireless packages. What we were told is that the time is cumulative based upon how much time we spent online. However, our first free hour online expired way before we spent an hour online. It seemed to be a one-time login opportunity only. The four hour package gave us a cumulative time of less than 90 minutes before the password expired.

They have a breakfast buffet that is one of the better breakfast buffets I have experienced and bar far the best we have seen in Europe. They offered fruit, cheese, cereal, coffee/cappucino, cereal, eggs, bacon, and pastries. We really began to look forward to their breakfasts.

We spent several evenings in the restaurant/bar winding down after attending our conference. Although we had fun each night, I cannot recommend the restaurant for dinner. The food was mediocre and each night they would tell us a list of items that they had on the menu that they really did not offer or could not make that night. They also showed several drinks on the bar menu that they did not really have either. However, the bartenders were friendly and tried hard to be helpful. They gave very generous pours of scotch which made us happy. Each night we spent in the bar was fun because we could watch the soccer matches on television and chat with other travelers while eating snacks and drinking scotch. But they are not a destination for food or drinks. Go to the neighboorhood restaurants for dinner.

The neighborhood has restaurants and a wonderful market directly in front of the hotel. The market is about 30 meters out the front door and has a wonderful assortment of cheese, meat, fruit, vegetables and wine. It's a real bonus for saving costs on food and enjoying authentic Italian food from a neighboorhood market.

The Duomo is an enjoyable 40 minute walk along the Corso Sempione and through Parco Sempione. We took a taxi to Teatro Alla Scala one night when it rained and it cost about 12 Euros each way.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel to a business traveler attending a conference at the conference center. It's in a nice neighboorhood and is an easy walk to the area of the Duomo.

A very good hotel at a quiet area in Milan. We were 3 people and liked the hotel very much. There are many restaurants and a very big super market nearby. On a side street behind the hotel very close to the super market there is an excelent ice cream parlour ask at the reception for the direction you will not be disappointed.

Booked this hotel at the last minute and was very pleased. I'm really surprised at any negative reviews but see most are years old and wonder if the hotel has been updated during that time. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I've paid more for less and thought the accommodations made this a great value. As others said the tram is a very short distance, probably two short blocks providing convenient access to the centre where tons of shopping, sight seeing and dining can be found. Sure, it would be nice to stay in the city centre but I wouldn't hesitate to stay at this hotel again., and good luck finding a better value.

For a very reasonable price, I found this hotel to be exactly perfect. I travel all throughout Europe, and I must say that the bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in -- firm and with good pillows (somewhat of a rarity anywhere...) The bathroom was not large but very clean; a minor quibble was that the folding glass door in the shower stall (no bathtub) did not seal properly and there was always some water leakage on the floor after every shower. Breakfast was free and tasty. The workspace was perfect -- enough room for my laptop and more, many electric outlets within reach and a very sunny window provided a great deal of light. The location was a 20-30 minute walk to the Castle and to the Duomo, with a huge number of quality restaurants along the way. Would I stay here again? YES!
