“Very short, but nice stay”
Reviewed October 29, 2012 via mobile

We stayed just for one night, all was perfect. It's around 10 min walk from the central train station, very easy to find. Hotel staff was kind, fast check in. WiFi is free of charge and quite fast. The room was cozy, clean and very comfortable bed to sleep. It's a little bit noisy in the mornings, because the trams are passing just in front of the windows, but we checked out in the morning, so it didn't affect us that much. Definitely will consider this hotel for future stays in Milan.

Had a good stay at Windsor Hotel. Everything went smoothly and they staff were very accommodating, particularly enjoying my bad attempts at Italian.

Check in was painless. They explained about the city tax at check in too which was good.

The room was fine. It was clean and comfortable with all I needed. There was only one power point and as I was there on business I had an iPad, mobile and laptop to keep charged so I had to do a little planning.

The big TV looked good but had no English TV apart from MTV. One of the window blinds didn't work either but I was out most of the time so that didn't matter.

Mini bar with soft drinks and a few snacks was a nice touch and very reliable free wi-fi throughout the hotel.

The restaurant was good. Great value for money. A varied menu with some lighter options as well as big meals.

The location was great. I caught a cab from near the Duomo to the hotel when i arrived in Milan on the bus from the airport and it was about €11 I think. Its just next to the Repubblicca stop on the metro and only one stop from Milano Centrale. Also not too far to walk to other stations on different lines.

The reception team helpfully called my cab for me for my trip back to the airport was was very early in the morning.

The only downside was single glazing and very noisy trams. This may be different if you were on the other side of the building.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the trams.

Superb location with two tram lines in front of hotel and the M3 Metro one block away. Rooms very comfortable, staff always helpful and breakfast now better than ever. In addition free wi fi and free mini bars. Wonderful value in Milan. Highly recommended

Impeccable and modern rooms. A little noise from the street. Breakfast is fine but served in a rude restaurant.I was there three days. Location of Hotele is not far from Milan Central Station, Metro is not far from Hotel and you can reach to all other locatons. Rooms is clean but other parts of Hotel not so much (hall, entrence….) could be better.

LOCATION- From Milan Central Station, you can take the Metro to Republican stop, hotel is less than a 2min walk, next day I took the tram to Duomo (the mecca of Milan) after two stops I realized it is a 10-15min walk from hotel, WALK don't bother with trams or metro(underground) all is so close and it is magical to walk and look at the beautiful ancient buildings interesting bars(cafes) and stylish people.
FRONT DESK- Helpful good advise to buy a full day ticket to travel on tram and Metro - Cost approx $4.00, good for whole day, if not into walking, available street directory, must see, etc.
ROOM-Advised recentetly renovated, it was lovely, in true Italian upmarket feeling, air conditioned, bathroom had everthing plus(nail file, hair band, hair conditioner, body lotion and more) not what you would expect at this price. I was on the 4th floor, it was quiet and elegant.
Comfortable, clean, with Italian ambience.
BREAKFAST- Not one for eating first thing in the morning, but from what I could see nothing for wanting if you are a breakfast eater, only had a cup of coffee which was complimentary with a smile.
OVERALL- I would stay again and had planned to subsequent to visiting Venice(Why- excellent location, great price, room elegant) but the hotel was closed for two month to continue with their renovations (closed the day I left). Having travelled extensively around the world for over 30 years there were no surprises, what you see is what you get unlike some other hotels in countries I have travelled in (e.g. India, South America and Vegas -yes a country in it self- LOL)
NOTES- BEING A SEASONED TRAVELLER and a CITIZEN OF THE WORLD I never judge or rate a hotel on an one off experience which may be an exception. e.g( the only time in my life have I ever had food poising was staying at the Ritz in London) my rating would be 11 out 10 for all, except food this did not prevent me from going back again , revisted no bad experience. One must compare Apples with Apples. ONE SPARROW DOES NOT INDICATE IT IS SPRING.

This hotel is in a great location for exploring the city. we stayed for 2 nights before moving on to Lake Garda. The links to the airports via train are very good, and Milan Central station is only a 5 minute walk away where you can easily get to Lake Garda, Venice, Verona and many more. Trians are also very cheap and realiable. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to city centre and 15 mins to the Duomo. There are some good restaurants nearby, 5 mins walk away, and a small supermark 1 min away. It is a nice touch that they have free soft drinks in the room fridge, and they provide free wifi (although we had to go in the reception or sit outside to pick it up). The room was a good size, clean and had everything you could need. The aircon was not working, and very old - probably not worked for a long time (it is a little wrong to advertise this hotel with air-con, as it simply doesn't) but this did not bother us. It is a little noisy as is on a main road with tram line. beds were comfortable, the service was good, and breakfast was okay - mainly continental but plenty to chose from. For what we paid - this hotel was great, and we were very happy with it.
