“My new second home...in Milan!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

This place feels like visiting good friends who happen to live in the most wonderful house. The rooms are super cozy, individually decorated..and the bathrooms spacious.my room even had small balcony..the breakfast was delicious.
The interior is perfection down to every small detail..relaxed sophistication, especially the terrace/winter garden and the lobby is fantastic!
This is not a hotel..it's really something else, something much more special!
I'll be back..special thanks to Sig.ra Rosi!

Very nice hotel, with big rooms, superb gothic design in the lobby, parking place in its own garage downstairs (extra pay, but it's much better than to leave your car outside), big bed. 10-15 minutes walk to Duomo, which is fine. Breakfast includes juices, coffee, home made pies (excellent!), but no hot food like omelette, unfortunately, no foreign TV too :(

Many hotels try to decorate in a hip way but fail. This hotel succeeds. It feels like a home with high end finishes. The staff is very helpful. The neighborhood nice with convenient grocery stores, restaurants and tram service. It is three stops to the Duomo. A fifteen minute walk to the Duomo is you wish. I have been to Milan many times and would stay in this hotel again.

A unique design hotel in great location. All the rooms are impressively desgined displaying their individual theme and character. Very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere, much thanks to the friendly and professional staff (also English speaking). The hotel is close to Navigli and not far from the center and shopping area. It would definitey be my first choice in Milan.

Contemporary place with friendly hosts and owners who care. We flew out of Milan after our trip to Como in the springtime. We were greeted by Roberto who helped us with everything we needed. The rooms were themed and large. It felt like a large apartment minus the kitchen. We did not take advantage of dinner but everything looked gourmet and you could tell a lot of effort was put into the meals. Roberto spoke good English which was a plus on this trip. The location was great for walking. Unfortunately when we were there the canals were dried up. Milan was our least favorite stop on our trip (great nightlife but crowded and old) but this hotel was our best hotel.

A great location for the city center and the buzzing bars and restaurants by the canals. Very good rooms and nice terrace area away from the noise of Milan. Very welcoming and help staff, the chef was on holiday and breakfast was a bit hit and miss, but nothing that would put us off going back to this hotel.

The underground on site car park was worth the extra and very welcome.

Room Tip: The apartments are like home from home and have everything you could want.

The Yard is a little jem of contemporary design, new materials, good collection of books and miscellanious, perfect food and awesome service. If you have a chance to stay in Milano try to spend there at least one day - to get and idea for the best interior design you can then use at home or see in the best design magazines. The place is only run by three people and I don't know how good should they be to manage place so amazingly!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
As it happens with all the most fascinating adventures, that of The Yard begins by lucky coincidence. Looking for a place where to live with its family, its owner instead found a vocation. Mixing the enthusiasm for a new challenge with the experience achieved during his many travels around the world, he built a small and comfortable guest house out of thin air. Spontaneously, this initial project became something more, and in a few years The Yard turned into a prestigious boutique hotel. ... more   less
