Owner description: An artsy, bohemian-type neighborhood hosting a number of high-quality leather shops, great for purses, shoes and clothes.

Brera or Brera Design District as it is called is one of the most beautiful and characteristic quarters of Milan, plenty of galleries, local shops of any kind of goods - clothes, art, food, design and furniture. There are many really nice bars and restaurants. Do not miss Corso Garibaldi, via Moscova, Corso Como, via Fiori Chiari, via Ponte Vetero… Strehler Theater... you’ll find out that Milan is far more beautiful than it is commonly described.

Yes there were a lot of leather goods shops and restaurants and the prices generally reasonable but there wasn't much other variety and it wasn't so lively. Also some of the shopkeepers were very rude and downright racist.

Even though Milan is not among my favourite European cities, I have to compliment Brera district to be exactly what I expected. It's full of galleries, original art shops, caffes and restaurants. Period buildings renovated at their best. One can tell indeed that the appearance of Brera stands out from the rest of the city. It doesn't surprise that high prices follow overall impressions.
