“Nostalgic Italian Decorations set the stage for a great meal!”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

The restaurant is decorated with vintage late 50s and 60s photos and other details down to a real vespa 50 painted in flashy color. The food is great tasting and waiter is generous in suggestions and hints. We ended up ordering a bunch of different plates to put in the middle and taking a bit from each. In a few words if you are only there for one time lets get the best of all the tasty dishes!

“Handy for office and hotel...quiet area, safe walk, food tasty”
Reviewed October 6, 2013

Stayed at hotel La Spezia on via Imperia. Told by reception staff to check it out. Quiet Monday night but was half full with diners. Decent choice of local Lombardy cuisine. Chose Tuna steak with pepper corn sauce. Served with sauted potatoes and salad. Noticed an International colleague and joined her for dinner. She said she dines here all the time when in Milan. She lives in Madrid and knows her food. She had breadcrumbed veal escalope which covered her plate. Big portion. Meal was reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere and decent obliging service. I'd go back again in future. Enjoy! Tom C Nottinghamshire

“Worth waiting”
Reviewed September 20, 2013

Been there on late evening and waited for table over half hour, but it was still worth it! This is kind place you should go for real Italian food, not Duomo restaurants for tourists! Food is delicious and genuine and very tasty... Atmosphere is also genuine Italian small place local restaurant with tradition. Definitely worth go, even from another side of the city!

“Authentic Italian restaurant full of locals”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

Ate here as we wanted an authentic italian meal while in Milan and this is definitely a spot that mainly locals go to with very few tourists! In fact, when we were there, there was only 1 other table of tourists and the rest of the restaurant were locals

Bookings are necessary as the restaurant was packed

Food:
The restaurant specialises in meats and pizzas, but we tried their pastas which were both good and tasty. The seafood was cooked really well!

Value for money is pretty good with most pastas being 10-15 Euro, except my lobster pasta which was 20 Euro

Atmosphere:
It's definitely a restaurant that locals go to and they aren't that used to tourists.... we got a few looks when we came in as in "how did they find this restaurant" but we felt welcomed by the host
We sat in an area with a tv and the champions league was on and the locals were cheering while eating and watching which was fun! If you want a quiet dinner then this probably isn't the place for you

Service:
Great service, but the waiters don't speak much english, but we managed to get by. The menu is in english as well as italian so makes it much easier

Overall:
If you're after a authentic italian restuarant, off the beaten path with not many tourists then this place is great

“Off of the beaten path”
Reviewed September 7, 2013 via mobile

Went here from a TA search and was very pleased. The food was plentiful and prices reasonable. Dinner for 4 with 2 bottles if wine was 166€. Amex accepted. I chose the filet, medium, and it should have been cooked longer. The grilled sole was the entree we all wished we had ordered. The breaded veal chop was enormous. The spaghetti de mare was very good as well. The menu is pretty typical Italian but the food and service were very good. I would go back but with 4000+ places to choose from, who knows???
