“Good location for Last Supper and St Ambrogio”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 9, 2012

The hotel's full name continues the above with "Centro Congressi" which gives you a better indication of the target market. Intimate and cosy it's obviously not. The front desk seems to be well-run and efficient from my minimum contact with it. The rooms are fairly standard 3 star fare: hard, and durable beds, small bathroom (no bath but shower in 309, at least), bedside and desk lamps, tv with international channels (BBC World veered between no and broken reception).
After a long and cold December day walking around, the one thing I was looking forward to upon my return was a steaming hot shower. Pity it could only just rise above lukewarm (and the same the following morning. Not a one off)
The room itself was warm, however.
The breakfast was quite good. Ranged from ham and boiled eggs to brioche, very good chocolate muffins, yoghurts, fruit, breads etc.
Terrible, self-service machine coffee should be avoided as you can ask the staff at the bar for a freshly made coffee of your choice.
I'd grade the place somewhere between 'Average' and 'Very Good' (which seems to be a lack in the grading system here generally).
We chose this hotel for it's proximity (100 metres) to Santa Maria delle Grazie, the church where one can see Leonardo's Last Supper . It's also rather close to the very old (4th century) Sant Ambrogio church.

Room Tip: Room 309 (and adjacent) has a window view of the tower of Santa Maria Delle Grazie.

Having travelled around the world and stayed in many hotels good and bad, i have discovered the 'Worst Ever'. This Hotel offeres absolutely nothing, the reception service is atrocious, the rooms are not clean, the mini bar does not work, no availability to get a drink of any sort after 9pm, the hotel does not have irons and ironing boards; the list goes on. I originally booked this hotel for three nights, will be checking out first thing tomorrow, cannot wait!!

Room Tip: My only tip is; Do not stay at this hotel at any cost!!

This hotel is very close to S. Maria delle Grazie church, where there Is the famous Leonardo's Last Supper. The hotel is located in an old monastery and it maintains the cloister (now a space for exhibition) and the calm. The rooms on the cloister side are very quiet and full of light, even if the impossibility of opening the windows makes them a little claustrophobic. The room furniture Is poor and the bathroom absolutely unfit to. "big" people. Generally speaking, rooms represent the worst part of this venue that, for the rest, is really nice. Good restaurant in the former Leonardo's potager (menus from 26 to 38 euros and a la carte), cheap salade bar. The location is fine for reaching the city center by subway. Possibility of reduced fee. Price around 180 euros for a double room, international breakfast included.

I have been spending several times 1-2 nights in this place. It is perfectly located in the center of Milan and all touristic places are in walking distance. The Last Supper is just on the other side of the road by the way. The building has splendid arches and a nice inner courtyard. As to the rooms and the hotel part of it I mostly feel like in a youth hostel: very old fashioned furniture and a minimal service (the bar closed at 18h00) . You are asked out of the breakfast room on Sunday at 10 h sharp.

Room Tip: Try to not get a room at the same level as the breakfast room -it will be very noisy.

I m Italian and stayed at the hotel for 2 nights: at check in I had to wait the receptionist finish to chat with another hotel clerk. While talking he spelled out several bad words in Italian , really inappropriate for his position. The check in procedure was fine however it was like checking at a youth hostel. Room I stayed in was cleaned however quite small and a bit smelly.
Breakfast real poor especially for anglo-saxon type guests.

The good: Close to Malpensa Express and Santa Maria Delle Grazie; 15 minute walk to City Center. Balconies. Its OK for an evening at best. Hallways are fine, but very dated decor in rooms. Rooms not particularly clean. Very dated decor in rooms. Lobby has cheap worn furniture. Minimal amenities; cheap shower with bad showerhead. Internet 10 euros. Rooms extraordinarily hot. Poor lighting. Staff was mostly disinterested with one exception.

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2012

Booked the hotel through booking.com as I was on a 2 day business trip to Milan. Its in a good location, only a short walk from the main rail and metro station so ideal for the showground and express train to Malpensa Airport. Two guys behind the reception were both cheerful and helpful but the staff in the bar were the exact opposite. I planned to sit on the terrace and have a couple of beers but after the first one was delivered they completely ignored me, despite appearing on the terrace 3 times. I gave up in the end and returned to my room. The room was fine, spacious and comfortable for an overnight. Although the hotel is different, due to the building, its not enough to make it worth a visit.
