The hotel's full name continues the above with "Centro Congressi" which gives you a better indication of the target market. Intimate and cosy it's obviously not. The front desk seems to be well-run and efficient from my minimum contact with it. The rooms are fairly standard 3 star fare: hard, and durable beds, small bathroom (no bath but shower in 309, at least), bedside and desk lamps, tv with international channels (BBC World veered between no and broken reception).
After a long and cold December day walking around, the one thing I was looking forward to upon my return was a steaming hot shower. Pity it could only just rise above lukewarm (and the same the following morning. Not a one off)
The room itself was warm, however.
The breakfast was quite good. Ranged from ham and boiled eggs to brioche, very good chocolate muffins, yoghurts, fruit, breads etc.
Terrible, self-service machine coffee should be avoided as you can ask the staff at the bar for a freshly made coffee of your choice.
I'd grade the place somewhere between 'Average' and 'Very Good' (which seems to be a lack in the grading system here generally).
We chose this hotel for it's proximity (100 metres) to Santa Maria delle Grazie, the church where one can see Leonardo's Last Supper . It's also rather close to the very old (4th century) Sant Ambrogio church.
