We arrived in Milan for an overnight stay, planning a day to see the city, then leaving in the morning. We wanted something close to the train station in order to get an early start the next day. We were very pleased to walk out the front of the station and spot the Hotel Auriga (we saw a picture ahead of time on Trip Advisor) in front of us, just one road to cross. For the price and convenience, to say nothing of the excellent breakfast, we were surprised at the room. It was very roomy, with a very comfortable bed, and the bathroom was wonderful, including a tub. Everything was exceedingly clean and the staff was very helpful, especially when we found that we had to send a fax back to the States. We as tourists were experiencing the benefits of a very nice business hotel - quiet, clean and well run. The only disappointment was that there was no free wifi.

Great location, central but quiet. 2 minutes walk from the Central Railway Station and the metro. About half an hour easy walk to the Duomo.
There is a large underground parking close to the hotel.
Nice, comfortable and clean rooms, although the décor is bit old fashion.
English speaking friendly and helpful stuff.
Good value for money.
Nice cozy dining room, but poor choice of breakfast.
Expensive bar facilities and the internet access.
You can hear underground, but it's not very disturbing.

Room Tip: Ask for room at the higher floor.

I recently stay in this hotel in October 2012. Upon arriving the receptionist was very rude during the check in process. He did not even give us a map of the city or tell us the hours for breakfast. It's a shame the service was bad since the hotels rooms were very clean and the breakfast was great quality. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone since the service was terrible. The personnel at the front was not friendly nor welcoming. Only stay in this hotel if u want bad service and a clean room. Also, the metro runs right underneath the hotel and will keep you up all night, in addition there seems to be no insulation between the rooms and you could hear everything from the other rooms, especially people flushing the toilets and turning on the shower.

A mere 5 minutes across the road from the Central train station this hotel is perfectly placed to explore both the city and the surrounding areas.

Staff were friendly and polite with helpful local knowledge of nearby restaurants and attractions. Special mention to the Barman who was lovely.

Room was spacious and very clean. The decor is rather interesting, possibly not to everyone's taste, but nonetheless well maintained. Shower was fantastic, note that wifi is not free (but to be fair, nowhere does it say it is when booking), sky TV (yes mainly in Italian, probably because it's in Italy), very reasonably priced drinks in the fridge. Ladies be aware, the hairdryer is a let down though.

You can hear the underground but it's not disturbing, and the train service isn't too full on during night. Greeted by a humorous guy at breakfast. Hot food can be ordered for extra on request I believe, but I stuck with the bread, cheese, eggs, fruit and tart which sorted me out till the evening.

For the price per night, and ease of the station, I would stay again.

Small room. satellite tv with a thousand Italian channels and no English, room service meal which was really substandard and a very average breakfast the next morning. Could have overlooked it all had the hotel had 2 stars or perhaps 3. But not a 4 star hotel. Decor is tired and worn out. But better than the Marconi round the corner.

We found the staff helpful even though when we turned up Expedia had created a double booking for us (their error).
The room was clean and tidy although I would agree with the review that describes the decor as carnivalesque but this still had charm.
Shower good both hands free and hand held options.
Breakfast although not expansive in offer was of good quality as was the coffee and choice of teas.
Yes there is some noise (noticeable rumble) from the metro but this doesn't effect your sleep unless you go to bed at 10pm and want sleep till 10am!!!
I would stay again
