Well known place among Milanese people,but... unknown to me until yesterday (when colleagues suggested it to me and when I checked on Tripadvisor too).
Nice place with big barrels decoration... clean, casual and firendly.
I reserved and arrived early in the evening... and I was the only guest for at least 20 minutes...
In the meantime I appreciated the cyder (two versions, one of them sparkling and bottled, the other still and by tap) and a first round of all the offered foods.
Still cyder is offered with free selfservice refill that you can obtain from the huge barrel near the entrance... and this cyder is strong, so be careful!
About the menu:
The apple salad was simply delightful.
The meatballs with herbs were very good and tasty.
The black rice (venere) was impressive.
the rice with asparagus and cheese was not reching perfection only because was missing some salt and so you have to rely on adding some 'parmigiano' cheese.
The drunk turkey was bland and a bit anonymous (but not bad) as the as the 'gnocchi'.
I asked to have 'il bis' for meatballs and the two rice dishes and they gladly bring it to me... as they offer you also free food refill (multiple times if requested).
When you got bored by the appertizers and main courses... you can go for the desserts.
Four desserts were offered and I really appreciated two of them:
the bisquits with calvados and the cappuccino cake.
The best surprise is the price!
In april weekdays (not weekend) the price is lowered and you amazingly pay 20EUR "all inclusive".
Basic rate for food is 7/10, not taking in account the price.
Considering also the price - la Sidreria is cheaper than a fastfood and better than many restaurants - my appreciation will be 8/10.
About the service:
an attentive and smiling waitress (Chanel?) brings you the food and asks always if you want to replentish your dish.
