STUNNING! Make sure you wear clothes that allow you to enter a catholic cathedral, no shoulders or legs showing
Strolling through this huge Piazza on a lovely summer's day was a visual treat indeed. Surrounded by stunning architecture on all sides, inhabited by shops, restaurants, and the magnificent Duomo (cathedral) AND the spectacular Galleria Vittorio Emmanuel II made made the day so very special. Befriend a tourist, like yourself, by taking a photo or two of their group...they will reciprocate, and you will have made a forever memory.
Breathtaking Cathedral. The details are amazing and I couldn't get enough from wandering around this huge piece of art.
Very vibrant, and huge place to walk around and admire the city life of Milan. It has the large Duomo cathedral, an imposing and impressive building.
With a great view of Duomo. This piazza is pretty cool.
Great views every way you look.
With the Duomo a must see, you are sure to visit the piazza.
This large square fronting the majestic Milano Duomo cathedral with its many sculpted spires was a short walk from our hotel. It was always packed with tourists (taking pictures or shopping, street vendors and performers (beware of preying scam artists -we saw some in action). There were also lots of pigeons when we came daytime after checking into our hotel. We did not go inside the church. The line seemed long and we were dead tired from traveling. The gloomy overcast sky didn’t help. It’s a consolation that the magnificent church looked better from a distance. In addition, we got to also admire it along side the beautiful exterior of the famous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele Ii. The following night we came here again ascending from the underground Duomo metro station after visiting Lake Como. What a sight? The Square was bustling and the view was even better when the lights accentuated these architectural marvels.
This is a must see -if you had to pick only one- in Milano. The greatness of the square bows to the magnitude of the Duomo and its history. True, it is a touristic attraction, but it is the symbol of Milano as well. Beware of pick pockets people, gypsies and various elements interested in your wallet.
Visited the Piatza at 9 p.m. Dark and wet. Bought wife a bunch of roses. Next thing another guy grabs them and runs off. 200 mtr. Sprint round Piatza to retrieve. I did get applause from the crowd. Not bad for a 70 year old!! He was 20. But a handicap of 2 massive bunches of roses!!!
This is the main square in Milan, and it is large and has prettier sights than most. The exterior of the Duomo, which fronts the piazza, is incredible. The square is usually crowded, but you can get great views of the Duomo from multiple angles. Also on the square are a statue of Vittorio Emmanuele II and the front of the Galleria, also a pretty sight. This square is worth seeing, and if you're in Milan, you will probably find yourself there.
Nice place in this world, full of life and energy. Lots of things to see, to do, to shop, to eat to enjoy life.
Milano cathedral is a master piece! La Galleria di Umberto Emmanuelle is beautiful with Savini restaurant.. I recommend to tadte the Panzerotti di Luini near the Gallery
