The guide books tell you to see this by late evening sunshine where the sun emblazons the marble front of the cathedral and indeed if is spectacular and dazzling. However, it is because you are dazzled that the wonderful colours that are present in the marble will not be appreciated so we thought there was more to gain when we viewed it a few days later when it was raining.
The inside of the cathedral is almost a disappointment compared to the outside, but it is free!
