“Nice budget place”
Reviewed April 27, 2011

We stayed there for 1 night this Easter. The place was perfect, with shops, cafes and metro station near, and 15 minutes walk to Duomo. The rooms that see in the road at the front, are very bright and spacious. My friens stayed in a back romm and it was rather dark and with not enough air coming in. There was mini bar, a safe and the bathroom was renewd and clean

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balkony and in high floor

What a great find! The room itself was slightly dated, but the ensuite had been redone with modern fixtures and a heated floor. There was a safe in the room as well. The buffet breakfast was excellent, and the staff was wonderful and spoke excellent English. In a nice neighborhood, only a €8 cab ride from the train station.

We stayed at Hotel Ritter during a stop in Milan and were very impressed with the location. The street has great shopping, food and nightlife. Very safe and everyone was very nice. The hotel appears to be stuck in a different time while some areas were very modern. The hallways were pretty dated as was our room, but the bathroom appears to have a recent upgrade. That said, it was still a comfortable room which suited our needs. The only downside to the room were the thin walls...you could hear everything when someone was in the hallway or room next door. The room had a safe and a fridge and plenty of closet space. The staff were helpful - provided internet and called cabs. Breakfast was standard. We walked to the Duomo area as well as the popular shopping streets from our hotel with ease - we actually didn't once take a taxi or subway to get around the city.

The only positive thing about this hotel is the location.
Carlyle Brera is right next door though, and way better.
Hope to never go back to the Ritter Hotel.

This is the worst hotel Ihave stayed in for a long long time. We arrived just before 2pm to be told the room should be ready. So we headed to it and found it wasn't. Back to reception to be told to go away and come back later. I asked for another room - this wasnt possible as it would mess up the other bookings as this was the room we had just been allocated. I asked if we could leave our luggage in the luggage room - this was not possible either as it was full. We were made to feel guilty for turning up so early (even though check in was from 2 and it was now after 2)......

Once we got into the room it wasn't particularly clean and neither were the communal areas....

The hot water mixer on the shower didn't work - hot one minute, cold the next, then a good blast of scalding hot water to burn your skin. Mention this to reception to be told yes they know about the problems but cannot do anything about it.

Breakfast was rubbish. stale croissants, tinned fruit, orange juice made from syrup that tasted disgusting. And to top it all off a waiter with filthy trousers who couldnt even zip up his fly......

But the worst thing about this hotel was the noise. I spent 3 nights listening to things beign scraped across floors, doors slamming, showers being run. The soundproofing was absolutely awful.......you definately need ear plugs if you are to have any hope of sleeping......

No internet access, no bar, no facilities......and this is supposed to be 3 star.....

A very good hotel with perfect location in a nice neighbourhood. The breakfast was quite sufficient and tasty, on a block table - one of the best croissants we have ever eaten.
Very friendly stuff and clean hotel although a little out-of-date bathroom facilities. The only 2 negative aspects are the really thin walls ( we literally could hear people talking in the room above) and the bath tube that regulates hot / cold water in its own way. Our hotel room (triple) faced an inner yard, so there was no noise from the outside. I would definitely recommend this hotel, it has a more than perfect correlation - price / quality.

This nicely furnished room (for 3) was quite clean and up to date. Location excellent as a Metro stop was within 1 block.......3 stops from Centrale Station.......easy access to all other areas we needed. Centrale is access point to bus shuttles to both airports and very reasonably priced.
Mateo was the main front desk staff we had contact with and he was extremely helpful to us when one in our party left a passport in a hotel elsewhere! He not only helped us find a solution to the dilemma, but was our interpreter over the phone as well.
Breakfast was also more than just coffee, danish and juice. All that we needed.
We most definitely would stay here again........
