Owner description: Our red open top double-decker buses have already become part of the city of Milan and they are becoming more and more appreciated by tourists from all over the world and by those people who want to know Milan from a different perspective, without having to cope with the hectic pace of this metropolis. 3 lines, 5 buses and a commentary in 8 languages are the necessary ingredients to explore the city and visit its most popular attractions and places of interest: The Sforza Castle, Sant’Ambrogio Cathedral, Parco delle Basiliche and Leonardo’s Navigli area. You can take a ride on a boat tour for a mini-cruise and discover the canals. Then our bus takes you to the Duomo, Milan’s most famous landmark, and you can see the Golden Madonnina perched on top of the tallest spire; then you reach the Scala Opera House. The blue line reaches the new skyscrapers area and takes tourists around the luxury shopping area in the core of the fashion district which attracts visitors from all over the world, also the most demanding ones.

The time table is a joke on the bus we had random 30 minutes of waiting time. Two times after waiting 30 minutes for the bus we ended up walking or talking the tram. 100% waste of time, money, patience and holiday!

Unfortunately, our only day in Milan was wet, so we, like many others, chose to invest 40 Euros in two 24 hour tickets for this bus. It was very crowded, and while we were fortunate to get seats, others weren't. One of the two buses we travelled on was closed upstairs, so only a small number of seats were available. Also two of the lines stopped for 1 hour lunch break at 1.00pm. For many visitors on a tight schedule, this was not explained on the maps and caused frustration. Also, because of the window advertising, we could not see out of the windows, so for all of our travels, we had no view. Of course if it was fine and we were on the top deck, we would have seen the city, but businesses need to consider all experiences. This is our first and probably only time in Milan so we were a little disappointed with our investment.

We are a travelling family of four and have used HOHO buses around the world, they prove to be a cost effective way for us to see the main attractions in each city, what's annoying is the differences between each cities HOHO busses. The Milan HOHO bus arrived every 30-45 minutes which was great to hop off and explore then make your way back however if you miss the next bus you have to wait another 45 minutes, also the busses take a set route and have a 45 minute stop at stop number 1 which really waste everyone's time. To me it appears as thou they do not have enough busses running, this could be due to our travel being outside the busy period however if we had our choice again in Milan we would use the Metro!

We booked this due to the enticing description online and suggestion by our third party travel website - where it said buses would loop around and we could get on one ever 15-30 minutes. That just isn't the case. It was a cold, rainy day when we did this tour with hopes of staying out of the messy weather.

The buses departed every couple of hours from a central meeting point, but then they came every 45-75 minutes at each stop. So once you get off at one point and realize after 10 minutes you are done, you end up walking to a bunch of other sites so you don't have to wait for the bus. And the buses weren't on a clear/reliable time frame, so we ended up walking back to the meeting point to get on another line later in the day.

We spent around $30 a person to use it twice and we could've walked both times and/or taken the metro for a fraction of the price.

The 2-day ticket is 20 euros, which is a decent price, but we would have been better off using public transportation. The bus was always 10-30 minutes late so we ended up wasting valuable time. The schedule for the stops was supposed to be every 45 minutes, but that just didn't happen. We would hurry to make sure we were at the stop...and then wait and wait. We had only one day in Milan and weren't able to see even half of the attractions. The buses started at 1000 and stopped running at 1750.We thought this was going to be a good idea, but it wasn't. If we return, we'll definitely look into the day ticket on public transportation.
