They do not cook with cheap ingredients and this is important for me when I eat in restaurants.

We atayed at The Hub Hotel and had breakfast here two mornings and all I can say is mmm.The range of food was incredible from hot items to cold, mutiple flavors of juices and a whole table of Gluten free items. Things were replenished and freshened often and the servers were friendly and helpful. Our breakfast was included with our room but they normally charge 12 euro per eperson.. definitley worth it.

To Dine For: An Evening At The Mirror Lounge

When you're in the mood for an elegant night out, make it a point to dine at the Mirror Lounge in the Hub Hotel. I recently visited with my stepdaughter and experienced a meal to remember.

Eating here is a time to celebrate. Set the mood with a flute of sparkling wine. Then order away and start smacking your lips.

My stepdaughter is my private wine taster. She selects a 2005 Brunella di Montalcino red. “Heaven in a bottle,” she proclaims, after inhaling from a humungous brandy snifter, then performing a tasting. One sniff tells me I agree.

Salmon sushi with parsley, presented like a miniature carrot, is blessedly fresh. And perfect for nibbling while deciding what else to order.

My first course recommendation, fresh pasta with onions, bacon and tomatoes. A tantalizing spaghetti dish that delivers a host of pleasurable flavors. Enough, by the way, for a meal in itself.

Food from the grill always has a special appeal. For a second course, I suggest grilled prawns with bittersweet zucchini. Sea-sweet prawns bathed in a wonderful sauce arrives. One bite and I'm a happy diner. Definitely the highlight of the evening. These succulent prawns would not be out of place on a table of the gods.

Delivery of the food is sophisticated, with a painter's eye for presentation.

This is a meal to take slow and easy. Take time and savor every bite.

Service is professional and low key, kind of like going to a symphony.

Ladies will probably feel more comfortable dressing up for such an elegant occasion.

Dessert. My favorite way to top off a meal. I order baba, a kind of cake, shaped like mushrooms, dripping with brown rum and accompanied by a vanilla sauce. Whipped cream and in-season fruits complete the dish. This is a dessert that still haunts me. I unashamedly sopped up the vanilla sauce with my finger.

As is to be expected, all the right notes were hit. When you want to dine like an aristocrat, the Mirror Lounge should be on top of your list.
