Owner description: Visit one of the most attractive historical sites in Milan and travel in the past, present and future of science and technology. Born in 1953, the Museum is one of the largest science and technology museums in Europe. Nestled in the cloisters of a Renaissance monastery, it covers about 50,000 square meters. At the Museum you can discover exhibits and interactive workshops on energy, materials, communication, transport, energy and particle physics. Visit the most important collection in the world of historical models based on Leonardo da Vinci’s drawings. Discover extraordinary objects such as steam trains, the catamaran AC72 Luna Rossa, the brigantine schooner Ebe, and the deck of the Conte Biancamano transatlantic. Come aboard the Enrico Toti submarine to experience how sailors used to live. Explore the new Space area displaying the only Moon fragment visible in Italy. Keep an eye on temporary shows and don’t miss the new exhibitions “#FoodPeople. The exhibition for people eager for innovation” and “Extreme. Searching for particles”. On weekends and public holidays enjoy a full program of activities in interactive workshops, initiatives in the Tinkering Zone and in the Maker Space, guided tours and special events included in the admission ticket.

“Excellent very interesting museum”
Reviewed April 14, 2013 via mobile

We really enjoyed this museum. Explanations were in English as well as Italian. It had Leonardo's models, industrial and chemical production information, maps and globes from 16th century. Well worth the visit.

“Not what we expected.”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

My husband and I are rather nerdy types, but this museum wasn't exactly what we expected. The layout of the museum was extremely confusing even with the map, and the Leonardo da Vinci part was just a single hallway. It was a cool place, but not really worth the trip in my opinion.

“Interesting but poorly laid out”
Reviewed March 27, 2013 via mobile

We went specifically to see the Leonardo Da Vinci exhibition which was quite interesting. I felt that the explanation of some aspects could have been better as the context for use of the machines wasn't always that clear but overall an excellent display.
On the whole we found the museum itself to be quite poorly laid out and confusing. There didn't seem to be any flow between the displays - more of a "we have room here, let's display exhibit X". The content of the exhibits however was well presented with lots of hands on activities for kids.
Recommend for parents with children and general visitors alike.
Lots of restaurants and cafes nearby to eat.

“Save your money, packed with kids”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

Went here hoping to see "originals" of DaVinci's sketches. Was disappointed that many of them were enlarged replicas, or reproductions of the originals.

Made the mistake of visiting on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Every kid in Milan was there, running and jumping around. Parents seemed oblivious.

Would not go back.
