Hotel Spadari al Duomo

Milan is an expensive City. We stayed 3 nights at the Spadari, and in the context of the first statement, I'd suggest the Spadari offers good value for money despite being ~200 Euro+ per night.

Positives
1. Service...as good as I've seen anywhere in Europe. The receptionist was always welcoming & helpful, they brought breakfast & coffees to our room at no extra charge and when we had breakfast downstairs, the waitress was polite and very efficient.
2. Location...ideal as a tourist, very central but still quiet.
3. Rooms...always clean!
4. Breakfast...freshly made and great pastries.

Negatives (minor)
1. Shower....within the bath and way too tight with small screen. Very powerful shower unit but couldn't be used unless you wanted to also soak the bathroom floor!

We booked the Spadari based on the reviews in trip advisor and we were not disappointed....highly recommended.

A great hotel which given its location in the centre remains a good choice to stay in Milan. It has good decor and is very clean. The staff are absolutely great, no doubt about it. They are willing to help as and when required and speak good english.
The breakfast was great delivered to room but with limited choice. Although if you are willing to eat in the dinning area the selection does improve.
The rooms were spacious and bathroom facilities of a good standard.
The area in which the hotel is located is very safe and right next door to peck a food hall with some serious culinary delights.

This hotel would have received an excellent but lacks serious sound proofing. One can hear the adjacent bathroom and doors being banged along the hallway.

Would I recommend, yes. The price, location and standard of rooms sway it for me.
Ideal place to spend a few nights or a long weekend. Recommended

We stayed at the Hotel Spadari following all the glowing recommendations on tripadvisor. We were only in Milan for 24 hrs so location was really important to get to the sights and the shops quickly!

The hotel really fitted the bill on that account, it is SO central, 1 - 2 mins stroll to the Duomo, Galleria, La Scala and surrounding shopping streets.

The hotel staff were the most polite and professional I have ever met. Very courteous and efficient, although this does feel a little robot-like after a few conversations with them.

The room was lovely, so modern and clean. It was on the 7th floor (top floor, as I requested a quiet room). It had a small window and sloping roof which made me feel a little claustrophic. 6th floor might be better.

So the only let down.. it really wasn't a quiet room. I could hear all the noises from the bathroom next door so easily. We could hear bedroom doors slamming throught the night and from very early the next morning (not sure if this was guests checking out or cleaners?) and then the hoovering started also v early, around 7 or 8am. Luckily we were awake anyway and up early but if I wanted a lazy lie in I would have been a bit sick of the noise!!

Good continental breakfast in room, loads to eat. Didn't check out the lobby bar at all but seemed nice. Would recommend this hotel, and would stay again for the location, but maybe they should install some more sound-proofing and leave the hoovering for an hour or two!

We just returned from a 2 night/ 3 day stay at the Hotel Spadari. We had a well appointed room facing the street. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning and hair dryer worked great. Also, breakfast was wonderful. It included rolls, fruit, eggs, coffee, and juice. The best breakfast we had in Italy.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially two girls (unfortunately, I did not get their names), at the front desk. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

This hotel is in a perfect location – about one block from the Duomo. We stayed in room 35, which had a view of the building next door. The room was small, but had all the necessities. The bed and pillows were hard as rocks, but we slept great on them surprisingly. The bathroom had a tub and shower, but the shower was a small indentation in the wall so you could barely turn around in it. Hair dryer was good. Water in the mini-bar was free. The included breakfast was fantastic – you ordered from a menu and there was a buffet of fruit and pastries. The hotel personnel spoke perfect English and German. Peck is right next door if you need nourishment during the day. I highly recommend this hotel.

Recently spent 2 nights at the hotel Spadari and found it wonderful. Every staff member we encountered went out of their way for us.

The Spadari is exceptionally well-positioned in the heart of the center of Milan, right by the Duomo, Pinoteca Ambrosiana and La Scala and within walking distance to the Castello Sforzesco. One note: if you're a food lover, this hotel is located NEXT DOOR to Peck, the gourmet shop, and adjacent to Cracco-Peck, the phenomenal restaurant on Victor Hugo.

Our room and bathroom were spacious and immaculate. Breakfast was lovely; pastries were laid out on the tables and the staff came around to take our orders for coffee and extras like eggs and such. Additionally there was a buffet table with fresh fruit, yogurt, cheese spreads and cookies.

I'd stay there again and would recommend it to anyone. It isn't a super-luxe hotel, for that go to the Four Seasons or the Bulgari, but it's a lovely small hotel with a caring staff who will take care of you.
