“Great location, Great hotel”
Reviewed July 18, 2013

The location of this hotel is perfect - around the corner from the Duomo! We could actually see the tippy top of the Duomo from our hotel room. It was so refreshing to stop back into the hotel to get away from the heat and the crowds. The staff was extremely friendly and spoke many languages. The breakfast was delicious - there were many options and the staff tried very hard to make whatever American breakfast people were asking for (omelettes, eggs, etc). The wi-fi and a/c worked well and make the stay very convenient. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Milan.

My friend and I stayed here in July for 3 nights. Milan was hot hot hot and this wonderful gem was cool and friendly in every sense. The room was not huge but it was very comfortable with very effective air-conditioning. The Bathroom was very good and the toiletries excellent. The furniture was unusual and beautiful to look at as well as being functional. The bed - I had three blissful nights sleep. This is enough to warrant an 'excellent' here on trip-advisor but it actually gets much better - the STAFF are wonderful, amazing, excellent, friendly, helpful - you get the picture, the staff take this hotel to a different level. The staff at reception were so kind and could not do enough for us, polite and knowledgeable. The staff in the dining room made it a joy to get up for breakfast everyday - cheerful and making sure every thing was perfect - asking was it one or two shots of espresso in the cappuccino, the simple things are the things which make the difference and the simple things in the Spaderi al Duomo are looked after with great care. If I were ever to return to Milan there is no question but this is where I would stay.
As a comment on Milan, it is a fashion conscious city, a fashion mecca and it is not hard to become a bit self-conscious when you are XL+, especially when we visited some high end shops and they literally would not or did not even acknowledge us with an 'buen giorno' - but in this hotel not for one second did we feel anything but welcome. Great hotel with greatest staff, there is nothing more to say.

We arrived in Milan one hour after the annual summesale started. The city was totally crowded.
Hotel Spadari is right in the middle of it all. We had a room on the 5th floor facing the street.
Could even see the top of the duomo from the bed.Perfect cityhotel with excelent service and high quality breafast. We had a good week with shopping and sight-seeing and very good food.
We also went to the Serravalle outlet one hour bus ride from Milan and did some really good bargains. The Last Supper was also something we managed to see. The Brera district is the place to be around lunch. Nice street with no cars and some really good restaurants.
If in Milan another time, will absolutely stay at Hotel Spadari.

Room Tip: One of the upper rooms will give you a good view.

This is the place to stay if you're visiting Milan! The location is perfect ... right near the Duomo and the Galleria and a short walk to La Scala and the Last Supper. The room was in perfect condition, the breakfasts were outstanding, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. We visited in mid-April and the weather was fairly rainy, but the hotel provided extra large umbrellas that really came in handy. The only advice I would give (other than "definitely stay here!") is not to drive a car to the hotel. We had a rental car that we were returning on arrival, but there's really no place to stop a car in front of the hotel (not the hotel's fault, it's just that the streets are quite narrow in that area). If we would have been more familiar with the area, we would have dropped off the car first, and then taken a taxi to the hotel. All in all though, a highly recommended place.

Super close to Duomo and shopping--on Via Torino (cheap), and expensive designer shops at Galleria Vittorio Emanuelle II (just go to see the amazing architecture) and Rinascente (upscale 8 story mall). Next door to famous Peck's. Nice spacious rooms and gleaming bathrooms.

This hotel is wonderful!! Located in the historic area steps away from the Duomo and in the heart of the shopping district. The famous gourmet store Peck is right next to the hotel and the Duomo subway stop is nearby.

This is a smaller hotel but has all the amenities you could ask for, free wifi, comfortable beds, flat screen tv, spacious modern bathrooms, spotlessly clean, the staff is friendly and helpful and English is spoken. Free English language newspapers are available in the lobby. The front desk is helpful with tourist information, taxis, and restaurant recommendations. Like another reviewer, we took the hotel's recommendation of Hosteria Borromeo which was a short walk from the hotel and very good food and atmosphere.

The room cost includes breakfast which is served from 7:30 to 11:00 am. The breakfast consists of wonderful cold buffet of meats, cheeses, fruit, pastries, yogurt, cereal, toast and jams, plus you can have eggs made to order if you like. Fresh coffee (american, espresso or capuccino) and a large variety of teas and fresh squeezed fruit juices are served to you at your table. The breakfast area also serves as a bar later in the day -- you can get a drink (additional cost) and snacks here before dinner.

Our room on the seventh floor was quiet and spacious by European standards. There was an room safe and a hair dryer.

Overall this hotel was a wonderful choice and I would highly recommend it!

Stayed here for 5 days attending La Scala ring cycle. Rooms are beautiful modern attractive with original artwork. What makes this hotel is the staff. Yolande was receptionist and concierge on duty when we needed help with various things from printing, scanning etc business documents to booking tours, she (and her colleagues) were complete effective, unflappable and courteous.

Similarly all the staff who produced and served the delicious breakfasts. Many thanks to all would stay again if lucky enough to get back to Milan and La Scala. Great location for all major city center sightsl
