“Art of hospitality”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

By far the best hotel I ever stayed in Europe. It offers genuine hospitality in an elegant surroundings at exclusive location, just a few steps from Duomo. The attention to details is amazing; best products are carefully chosen from breakfast pastries to bathroom toiletries. Personal design style and contemporary art create unique and extraordinary interior space, comfortable, homey and inviting. The staff are really excellent, very friendly and helpful, happy to share their tips for enjoying the city, its cafes, boutiques, exhibitions and art galleries.

It is indeed a place you feel good about and always want to come back.

We stayed at the Spadari for 4 nights while attending a conferene at Mico. Its location and access to attractions and shopping and restaurants is excellent. We only needed a cab to go to the convention centre, about 10 euros away. The room we had was spacious, the free non-alcoholic minibar very welcome and most of all an easy to use free wifi for as many appliances as you have. Breakfast was good too. Staff all very helpful...All in all, very pleased with this hotel; recommended.

Charming hotel and staff and very helpful. We arrived late with an early flight the next morning. The staff helped us through every step of the way including preparing lunches for us pre-flight. The rooms were well appointed with comfortable beds and bath amenties. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Our recent 5 day stay was a mix of business and pleasure and we had an overall very favorable experience with this hotel. The location is unbeatable-on a quiet street two blocks from the Duomo-shopping, many nice restaurants, and attractions including La Scala are all within easy walking distance. We relied on the hotel staff for most of our dinner/restaurant recommendations and they were spot-on. The staff were universally friendly, efficient, and professional in an understated way which was appreciated. In particular, the staff who took care of the morning breakfast (especially Anna) were exceptional.

The room was comfortable-we had a king room and at 29 sq m (300 sq ft), even though on the small side, was well laid out and efficiently arranged so that we did not feel cramped. Overall, we really enjoyed the hotel and would definitely stay there again when visiting Milan. A few minor complaints/suggestions. We arrived early and the room was not ready-no problem as there is plenty to do and see in the area but when we returned to check-in, we were simply handed the key to our room with no introduction or orientation to the hotel, which we found a bit unusual for such a highly rated hotel. I suspect this was an oversight. A few things about the room- 1. the TV in our room was very small ( I would guess about 21’’), almost useless really-no problem for us as we never watch TV, 2. The room did not have a clock in it (again not a major problem), and the room did not have an ipod/iphone doc in it. These are minor issues unless you need a big screen TV. On the other hand the room comes stocked with complimentary water and soft-drinks, a nice touch. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Hotel Spadari. A small hotel that is very big on service. Have stayed in more expensive high-brand hotels in central Milan, but the Hotel Spadari would definitely be first choice for a return visit. No full scale restaurant as such, but great in-room breakfast service, and as for the evening snack service - well those are some of the best snacks I ever had. Special occasion? Absolutely delighted the hotel reception were able to make a special occasion restaurant reservation for us with fantastic table at one of the most sought-after locations in Milan. Oh, and the hotel rooms and decor are good too, as is the complimentary water and soft drinks, plus very convenient location, English speaking staff and English newspapers.

We were a bit skeptical of all the rave reviews, but our 3-day stay convinced us that Hotel Spadari al Duomo is living up to its reputation. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go - assisted by excellent directions from the patient and accommodating staff. This is a minor point, but the made-to-order scrambled eggs ("with everything") offered at breakfast are memorable. The style of the hotel is classic and modern in the best sense of both. We had a great stay.
