Owner description: For sheer belle époque splendor, this extravagant 19th-century glass-topped, barrel-vaulted tunnel serves as a lively, noisy and colorful shopping mall, teeming with life and inviting you to people-watching from the tables that spill from the Galleria's many bars and restaurants.

I believe this gallery is one of, if not the first, indoor shopping malls. The architecture and glass ceiling are beautiful and worth taking a look at. The building is right off of the Piazza del Duomo, so it is likely that you'll be nearby if you are visiting Milan. There is a fun tradition that for luck you should find the bull mosaic (in the floor near the central point of the mall) and spin yourself around 3 times - you may see others lined up doing it, and we gave it a try as well. The galleria of course has many shops and restaurants; most expensive. We spent a few minutes browsing the storefronts as we walked through but overall spent only about 10 minutes in the mall. True shoppers may want to take more time.

Spectacular galleria, a great place to saunter and admire the architecture and wonder at how much it must cost to buy anything in the high end shops it contains. Most people are tourists rather than shoppers, or those who have come to rotate on the bull’s ‘undercarriage’ (look it up!)

This 19th century precursor of the shopping mall / shopping centre is well worth the visit.
It has become one of the principal tourist attractions of the city, with all that that means : hordes of tourists, selfie sticks poking in all directions, guided tours, noise, transient youth,...
I went there for the architecture - and not the overpriced shops and restaurants!

I didn't buy anything but had a great time looking at the expensive handbags and shoes. A must see for shopaholics! It is a beautiful, high-end shopping delight right beside the Duomo.
