My travelling companion was in fashion heaven visiting the Galleria (the original, from which all other shopping centres called 'Galleria' take their name). All the great Italian clothing and shoe shops are there, plus a good number of jewellers. But I was quite surprised to find that the various restaurants and cafes were reasonably priced. We ate on the upper level of Camparino's, which is located at the entrance facing the Piazza del Duomo, and had a fantastic meal served by our waiter Gabriele. Of course we had the classics: risotto giallo (alla milanese) & cotoletto alla milanese). From our table we could look down on all the shoppers strolling through the Galleria. The food and view were so great that we went back for more, two days later! Camparino's is one of the historic places to dine in Milan - I recommend it.
