Owner description: For sheer belle époque splendor, this extravagant 19th-century glass-topped, barrel-vaulted tunnel serves as a lively, noisy and colorful shopping mall, teeming with life and inviting you to people-watching from the tables that spill from the Galleria's many bars and restaurants.

Walked through a couple of times, very impressive but 30 mins and you are done and out into the Duomo square area in front of the outstansding cathedral.
We had dinner at a restaurant in the Galleria, very very good, think it was called Galleria also, will try to retireve name and do a report.

How can you not check it out, as long as you're at the duomo?
fantastic piece of architecture, with resataurants throughout the gallery, open at four ends, with more than the occassional pigeon. Window shopping galore. A kick.

You will be well advised to keep your hand on your wallet. There are almost as many pickpockets as vastly expensive luxury brands here. Both equally effective at parting you from your cash. But the goods on sale are no more expensive than at the same brands' outlets in any other major city. This place heaves with tidal waves of tourists. But what did you expect?
Admire the beauty of the architecture (whilst making sure your property is secure). Splash out on a perfect Campari soda at the cafe which the Campari family still own (€10 which includes some decent canapes). Watch the world go by.

Really nice to actually visit a place seen so many times on TV. The layout of the city could be a little confusing, but you can use the Galleria as the starting point to explore the rest of the surrounding shopping streets.
