Excellent, informative tour of this lovely home.
The building is the star, however the room furnishings and design alterations are great to see.

I found this looking through the reviews on TripAdvisor. Otherwise I would not have known about this. This is the house in the movie "I am Love." It is a beautiful villa in the city, formally owned by 2 aristocratic socialites richer than god. It is a very interesting experience looking at a house that was lived in. You do have to tour with a tour guide and the tour is in Italian, but our guide welcomed us English speakers to ask questions and he tried to incorporate some English explanations here in there. You get an English guide book along. It is not hard to follow. The guide goes by the order of the rooms on the guide, so you should have no problems figuring things out. Highly recommended experience if you are sick of the typical museum.

Amazing house and garden in the middle of Milano. Alterations to the original decoration are a pain but some rooms are hopefully well conservated.

This was not high on our list, but our guide recommended it highly. What an amazing house-down to the furnishings, even clothing and an ancient Kitchen Aid mixer. We very much enjoy seeing how people lived and it very much appealed to our 18 year old grand daughter.

The Circuit of Historic House Museums in Milan include two fascinating museums that still are set up like the houses that they were: the late 19th century Bagatti Valsecchi Museum (on via Gesù, 5) that should be visited first, then this fascinating 1930s home, the Necchi Campiglio villa. The architecture and fittings were designed by Portaluppi (though some areas were redone, later). The art collection, though fitting to the ambiance, is not original to the house. The only bad thing about this museum is that one is forced to visit it with a guide, who has to keep you moving, so you can't linger to examine the things that interest you most, nor skip more quickly through the things that interest you less.
