“Excellent! The top floor is a must-go!”
Review of La Rinascente

All floors of shopping display the best things in life. But already just the top floor is a reason to visit this shopping centre: cosy bars and restaurants, outside dining on the roof, quiet and next to the duomo (perfect view). Inside on this top floor are several bars and corners, more like a food court but all high quality. You have to see the shoes made out of chocolate!

£130 of pasta and pesto can never be wrong!

We walked past this place thinking it was Milan's answer to Marks and Spencer.

Only when we went in to spend our remaining euros on some food before heading home did we realise it made Selfridges look like British Home Stores.

We wanted food, so we took the escalators through the wonders of Gucci, Armani et al, via the god-awful Burberry (why?!) to the top floor, where we proceeded to pick up various consumable items at largely inflated prices.

Actually, I do exaggerate. 30 euros for some nice balsamic vinegar was a bit top end-ish, but pasta and pesto at 5-10 euros isn't that bad really. We spent about £130 on various luxury food items (little panna fortes, pasta, truffle oil, chocolate and a few jars of this and that).

La Rinascente combines the the catharsis of shopping with the fear of credit card payment denial. It is wondrous and grotesque. It is very Milan.

8 floors of shopping! Well worth wandering around and could spend a lot of money!! All of the staff were eager to help.

It is a concentrate of numerous mid to luxury italian and non italian brands. Some brands have little choice though but generally speaking it is not the case. The highest floor has a terrace with an awesome view on the Duomo : great choice for a pause or a drink. Overall nice shopping experience.

As all the reviews say, this is definitely a high-end designer department store. However, the top floor is a sight to be seen! All the specialty food, 2 restaurants with balconies with Duomo views and fantastic Italian chocolates! The chocolates are the most afforable part of this store, and they are good quality.

This warrants a trip here especially if you are in the area to see the Duomo. Both restaurants are good and fairly priced (for Milan). If its a nice day and you want to sit on the patio, there may be quite a line. Great people watching too!
