“Value for Money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2013

I just reconfirm what everyone else has been saying.

Its great value for money within walking distance to the Navigli District and pretty much everything can be reached by tram #14 outside the hotel. I think i booked a smaller double so it
was a bit tight so not sure what the others are like.

Can't comment on the food as we didn't have any but the rates for drinks & food seem very fair to what’s available outside.

Just some additional bits…

To arrive/depart make sure you use the Malpensa express to Cordona(11 Euros).Come out of the station & go down to the metro and use the M2(green) for 1.50 Euro to St. Agostino. Just have a printed google map ready to get your bearings to the hotel as there are quite a few exits from the metro. Works really well & will surely save you some money.

Depending on your duration of stay you should by the 24/48 hr passes which can be used for the underground, trams & buses which are great. Just need to validate it and jump on, works out cheaper and saves the hassles of getting one every time. Make sure you use tram #14 as it covers virtually all the places most would be interested in and saves your walking legs to enjoy the best parts.

It was a great experience. The rooms were spacious and clean. A modern decoration and confortable bed. The staff was friendly and efficient at all times. Good value, and I surely recommend this hotel.

During a trip around the Alps and Italy we stayed at this hotel for 7 nights. Both us found the Hotel to be well located and very easy to quickly get to the centre of Milan by public transport. The rooms were comfortable and modern.

The young woman at the front desk, Federica was very courteous and most helpful when approached for any assistance. A grumpy young man on the front desk may need to consider his approach to dealing with the paying customers of the Accor chain of hotels.

Would recommend this hotel for a stay when in Milan.

i staid in Mercure Solari with my wife last march
it was very simple, there was no Wi-Fi in the rooms we had to stay in the small lobby to have access to Wi-Fi.
the service was very normal
(maybe i'm just not used to this kind of hotels)

My wife and I stayed here three nights. I'll discuss by issue category.

Transportation/accessibility: There is a metro stop on the M2 (green) line three minutes walk away, and a tram stop 30 seconds from the front door. The hotel also offers a car service for getting to airport (40 euro to get to Linate, more for other locations). About a 25 minute walk to the Duomo, less if you take the trams. Overall, excellent location, excellent accessibility.

Room: Room was quite nice. Two pillows of differing firmness and a double/queen size bed. Room setup was a bit odd, with the desk and TV at the foot of the bed, but was not off-putting. Hardwood floors, which is a nice touch over carpet. Very nice, modern bathroom. The climate control wasn't quite up to standard, which is why I give the hotel 4 marks. AC was not efficient. We had to set the temp to 10 C in order to make the room passably tolerable (68 F at night). The unit kept clicking, as though it was resetting. We did not contact the front desk about this. The view from the room was ok, with a nice balcony. Be careful to stipulate a non-smoking room if you do not smoke. The Italians still love their cigarettes.

Area: Hotel is nicely located. The area is not super busy (as it is near the Duomo) but easy walk to the tourist highlights. There is a fantastic gelato shop across the street, and a movie theatre 1 minute from the front door.

Hotel: Clear, nicely kept. The breakfast is reasonable. Lots of pastries, with eggs, fruit, yogurt, etc. They even served champagne, with which my wife and I made mimosas.

Overall, very nice hotel, certainly I would recommend.

This hotel had a very nice room with a lovely big bathroom, the only problem we found with the hotel was when we asked them to fix the air conditioning as it was quite hot in the room, on several occasions they said it was fixed when it wasn't, we found that very frustrating, they ended up giving us a fan. Some of the staff were OK, some were not. Though not a central hotel when found that getting to the centre was easy with a tram just across the road.

We stayed at this hotel with our son for a long week-end. The room was a bit tight with an extra child bed, but not all hotels offer this facility so we were grateful to be able to opt for a cheaper room with an extra roll-away bed for our son.

The room was very well decorated, very clean, with a great bathroom and excellent (huge) king-size bed. The hotel is quiet and we slept extremely well. My sister in Law had a room on the other side of the hotel which was slightly bigger, but no balcony. Also very quiet.

The hoetl is well located, right next to a big park (great for children) but also 5 minutes walk to the metro and 30 seconds walk to the tram (and the best cream shop we found in the whole of Milan!)

The hotel staff could not be faulted for their helpfulness and local knowledge. Always smiling.

The hotel offers two levels of breakfast, and it's free for children. We had the cheaper 'continental' which was plenty.

Overall, given the price of the deal we got (advanced pre-paid booking) I think this hotel offers excellent value. I see other travellers complain about the size of the rooms. Yes they are not huge, but there is plenty of wardrobe space and the beds are huge.

Room Tip: Courtyard side may be slightly more quiet, but overall very quiet part of Milan
