The decor inside the room was funky which we liked. The staff were excellent and very heipful.
Excellent location to the subway and trams. Only dislike was the lift. It was too small too handle all the luggage and the both of us and we're not big people.

The accommodations and service far exceeded our expectations. The staff did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. The hotel is very modern on the inside with an exterior of old world Italy. Perfecto

Arriving from our Venice tiny and old hotel, this one in Milan was a gem. First of all, it's located 50 meters from the metro, which was great. The hotel is new or at least renovated, everything is modern and shiny, the rooms are huge (no bathtub but very big bathroom). Good breakfast, English speaking staff. Clean towels and sheets, big TV, window to the street. The hotel only has one floor, not that it matters anything.
We loved this hotel.
We needed check-in to our flight and print our boarding pass, and they helped us.
I saw some complaints about noisy rooms but we closed the window and had not problem sleeping well. The hotel area is good for shopping with reasonable prices (we went to the supermarket to buy some cheeses and other local stuff).

Room Tip: We had to choose between a back facing, smaller room and a street facing, bigger room and went for t...

It is a small new hotel located very closed to downtown. It is 30 m from a underground station and very closed to many nice restaurants. The hotel is small but the rooms are new and very cleaned. Service is excellent and very kind. Breakfast is very good. In summary a nice hotel I recommend for families or for business stays.

Stayed here for three nights in May 2014. Check-in was smooth and seamless. The room and bathroom are very clean. Bathroom is equipped with soap, shampoo (bring your own conditioner), plastic cups, and shower cap. I had a double bed which is firmer than I like but I slept pretty well. The tv only has Italian speaking stations. Not even CnN International. Free wifi is available throughout the hotel, but it's spotty and weak. Sometimes it was enough to stream movies, other times I couldn't even refresh Facebook.

Porta Romana metro spot is one minute away (in front of McDonald's, use the Lido street exit, and there is an elevator) and three stops away from the Duomo.

Most of the staff I encountered were pleasant and helpful, except for one receptionist who was very haughty. The woman overseeing breakfast is very sweet and serves excellent coffee. Breakfast was alright, cold meats, selection of breads and croissants, and eggs.

Now the bad part...I'm not a light sleeper but I could hear the metro train rumble beneath the building. Additionally, there's a pub across from the hotel and the noise kept me up even though my room faced the courtyard. The hotel occupies the ground and first floors of the building. My room was on the first floor and the apartment unit above are very heavy walkers and doing repairs/construction the whole time. This could be an anomaly, but if it's a residential unit on the second floor the. I may be a regular occurrence. Lastly, housekeeping isn't very quiet in the mornings (walls are very thin. You WILL hear your neighbors talk as they walk down the hall).

While the area is safe (I was out at 7am one morning and on another night I returned at 11.30pm), I doubt I would choose to stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the courtyard

I stay at this hotel in December 2013 and I can say that is exceptional in terms of cleanliness and serving breakfast, which was very varied. The staff is very friendly and well trained to help you with whatever you need.

Spent 2 nights in Hotel Five. It is at a great location - just 3 metro stops from the Duomo, and is easy to find. The room was very clean and relatively quiet, still in good shape, and at a reasonable price. Overall good value for money and a nice base to explore the city from.
The friendliness of the staff is mixed and although the hotel is new, it lacks some important but I think quite basic amenities. A few examples: no Do not Disturb sign; electric sockets not good for a laptop without a local converter (you may take the one they use for the TV); many TV channels, but barely any international ones; very difficult to get an iron from the staff; no hangers in the bathroom, etc.
