Hip and trendy restaurants in Milan often do not rhyme with top quality of food and generous portions. This is not the case of Ratana', a relatively recent addition to the Milan restaurant industry located inside Fondazione Catella, which is definetely to welcome. It is in the newly redeveloped area of Varesine (most of the buildings around the villa which hosts the restaurant are still under construction, which gives a sort of post-industrial flavour to its setting). Food is pretty much based on the Milanese tradition with some re-invented local specialities and several independent additions (like the fish foie gras). Overall, extremely enjoyable, although service could be more attentive. Very good wine list. Vegetarian options available.
