“Average restaurant with friendly service”
Reviewed July 13, 2012

We went twice to this restaurant during our trip in Milan. Pizzas are delicious, very big and satisfying to the taste buds. However, their pasta dishes are not as great, very oily and heavy. The prices were decent. The waiters were very friendly. I would recommend this restaurant.

“Reasonable food for money”
Reviewed June 2, 2012 via mobile

We visited the pizzeria as a recommendation from a tourist guide especially because it was located in the heart of the city center, just a stone throw away from the Duomo. We were not disappointed but also not impressed. Food and price were reasonable and it's ok for lunch time when visiting Milan. As for food quality either we chose the wrong dishes or they weren't so special. We would rate it as a normal/average restaurant.

“Good value, good quality food”
Reviewed May 30, 2012

We hadn't heard of this place but just happened to be passing at around lunch time, noticed it was fairly busy with locals and took that as a good sign. It certainly was. Very bustly atmosphere, prompt service, good sized portions and reasonably priced.
Would definitely go back.

“Good food quality but the service could be improved”
Reviewed April 14, 2012

Nice restaurant. Good quality food. The restaurant is opened at 12:00 but already by 12:30 you hardly can find a spot to sit – the place is full with locals. For two adults and one 3 years old child one pizza and one portion of tortellini was enough to be stuffed for quite a while – pizza was very large and tortellini portion was not small either.

Before the opening, staff is having lunch in the restaurant. This means that if you enter the place at 12:00 you never hit a “cold stove” and never need to wait for more than 10 minutes. But if you get in some time after 14:00 when the lunch rush is over, you can spend more time waiting.

We have been there for 3 times and every new visit left less positive emotions, unfortunately. The food was the same good every time, but the service was degrading. The first day everything was fast, responsive and really really good. The next day there was only one waitress who was busy doing all sorts of things in addition to serving the tables. The third time, we were unfortunate enough to get a waiter who didn't care about us at all. I had to go grab olive oil myself, had to go find him to ask for not cold water for a child and watch him staring at me when he brought the ice-cold bottle. Though he was immediately by our table when we were paying.

One more thing I didn't get was the "table cover" fee that is 2€ according to the menu. But first time 3 of us (2 adults and one child) were charged 2€ in total, next time we were charged 4 and the last time, when "the best waiter ever" was standing by our table, we were charged 6€. Keep in mind.

So, even though the service could be improved, the food is very good to enjoy the brake from busy streets of Milano center over lunch. Would recommend to my friends who are not as emotional as I am about the service ;)

“Expect it to be cheap, not more...”
Reviewed August 14, 2011

"Flash" was the first place mentioned in our Lonely Planet. The description sounded nice, so we went there. It was the wrong decision.

The atmosphere is not very comfortable with the too many lights hitting you eyes, too many tables squashed into the L-shaped restaurant and a dozen of flies attacking you and your food.

The waiters, if you want to call them that way, were slow, without a clue and not very forthcoming. We wanted the house wine and waitress told us that there is none left (how can the house wine be depleted?) and instead offered us sparkling wine (no joke!). We asked what other wines she had and all she was able to do was to show us the different bottles and their labels. The waiters shuffled slowly through the restaurant and our food was served one after the other, not simultaneously (normally, both persons should be served at the same time...).

The pizza was large, but the border was equally large, so that the actual size was not really extraordinary. The tomato sauce was tasteless and the tuna on my pizza looked quite old.

The only positive aspect was the fact, that we did not pay much for our dinner. 40 euro for two dishes and half a litre of chianti. But considering the quality of the food, one should not expect people to pay more.

All in all, "Flash" is a cheap eat, but not a great experience that you want to take home from your holidays.
