“Local popular joint with great variety of food”
Reviewed May 24, 2013

Tried this place for lunch today on recommendation by friends who live in Milan. We tried the Sicilian street-food platter which was quite good. They have however much else to choose from, and will certainly come back again for more...Convenient location in the very heart of Milan.

“Rude staff”
Reviewed May 22, 2013

Generally an efficient and good place for lunch. It becomes terrible for dinner. Average waiting time becomes much longer and the staff is not at ease should somebody asks for something extra (i.e. additional chair). We said upfront that we were on a rush and the waiters guaranteed that service would have been quick; but we ended up leaving the place without eating because we ran out of time.

“Good value tasty lunch spot”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

Eat in or out at this very trendy and popular Focacceria, which serves really excellent main course salads and other lunches at very reasonable prices, considering the quality of the ingredients. Also very friendly helpful staff - no need for them to be so nice to tourists with very average Italian language skills!

“Simpatico e divertente”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

I have been there a number of times for large gatherings with friends. A very nice simple place with some very intriguing specialities. Don't expect anything special but a casual place to consider for easy going eating with pleasure. For this purpose one of the best in Milan. Very central.

“Nice restaurant for something different”
Reviewed April 16, 2013

I recently visited this restaurant (Via Panfilo Castaldi branch) with a group of friends and we were all satisfied. Consider that this is not a pizzeria, although the name would suggest so. We shared some starters, made of fried panelle, small arancini and crocchette (potatoes and cheese). The starters were fried and prepared in advance but still they were ok. We then ordered some typical pasta dishes and we were very happy as the quality was good, portions also and the taste was a little exotic and different from what we usually have. Especially the pasta with anchovies, sultanas, grated bread was very nice. We didn’t order any fish, although the dishes that were served around us were very tempting. At the end we enjoyed some typical deserts such as the cassata siciliana (try the “al taglio” and not the small ones) and chocolate cake. They also serve some home made good beer. We will definitely come back when we want something typical and different.
