We arrived at the canal too late to see the shops and decided not to brave the pizzerias crowded with 20 somethings enjoying the early spring evening. This left us with a choice of about a dozen restaurants and the "coniglio bianco" appealed to me as an Alice in Wonderland fan and it was next to quite an interesting gallery. I was pleased to see that some of the artwork from the gallery adorned the walls. The service was adequate but not terrific, the portions large (my beef cheek was tender and tasty, my wife's veal cutlet huge) but with a small number of tables occupied, we rather wish we had defied our 40+ inhibitions and joined the youngsters for a basic feed and a beer. A bit more atmosphere and this place would have received an extra dot.
