Paid for a ‘deluxe’ apt for 2. Certainly not what we got. 2 friends staying 3 nights basically 2 full days in mid-June. Chose it for the terrace and internet - thinking it would make up for the not central location. The terrace? A viewless place with some dead plants and a single (broken) chair - best of all - entered by climbing - crawling thru the bedroom window sill - about 1 meter high. The others may have had normal doors but hey – I paid for a ‘deluxe’ so what more could I do in reserving? It was a bad joke. Climb thru the window. You can see the sky and the neighbor’s apts across the street but not the street. Treacherous spiral staircase to the bedroom – forget it with any kind of mobility issues. Bags thus must stay downstairs on the floor - otherwise nowhere to sit – and that space is a cave - windows facing the upwards? slope of a garage roof so you see nothing but the roof. Bring your own sugar. As others report there is 1 wine glass. TV worked 1 day then not. Was told was internet by the cable. Should have said – show me – could find no cable. So, no internet, no TV. The point of taking an apt. is to have the space if you will spend time there – after a 10 hr day of being out and about not all of us are night time clubbers anymore so it’s nice to have your space to relax in but the here the space was simply not nice at all. If you do choose to stay here, with the directions from Porta Garibaldi it’s fine – but when you come up the stairs from platform 20 you don’t go straight, you must turn quickly left to get to Via ‘caracola’ and then go straight for 50 meters and first left. Convenient if from Malpensa…if travelling onwards to other points may need to get to Centrale station first by metro. Would never stay here again, too deeply disappointed in the Isola ‘deluxe’ . Felt rather de-lucked than deluxe.

Room Tip: beware the deluxe room with terrace entrance thru the window

We stayed here for 4 nights with our toddler and found it to be a great facilty and gave us so much more space than a hotel.

The location was ideal, literally 5 mins walk from Garibaldi station (take exit at platfrom 20). Within the station there is a decent size spar for all essentials which is open til 9pm.

We had apartment C which was a deluxe apartment with a lovely roof terrace. The apartment was a great layout with plenty of space in the lounge/kitchen for our wee boy to run about. The kitchen had the essentials needed for a short stay (no microwave though). It is worth noting that there is no highchair for wee ones, but we just used his buggy.

The shower room was great, shower was fab pressure. Our apartment had no bath, which again wasnt a problem for us.

It was a spiral staircase up to the bedroom which didnt bother us and thought was a great feature. For peace and quiet we chose to put the cot down stairs so we could move about in the bedroom and bathroom without disturbing our wee boy.

The bedroom was a lovely size and comfy bed, as someone said before plenty of wardrobe space. Terrace was accessed from here, which would be a great space in the summer.

Apartment was so quiet at night which was great.

We used the metro most days to get into the centre and walked it back. The walk was lovely and through a nice area.

Great restaurant close to the apartment is Ex Mauri

Enjoy!

I would agree with other comments that the apartments are roomy with good wardrobe space. The bathroom was spotlessy clean with large towels. Very, very quiet, no street noise or from within the apartments. A small terrace overlooking the street with table and two chairs. The aircon was efficient, and welcome because I used the apartment for a series of business meetings. The location is in a friendly residential area, local bars, excellent deli/grocery shop, launderette etc all within a 5 minute walk. Free wifi which was at a good speed. Parking near impossible, only for local residents
Now for the downside!
Only one wine glass, and one tumbler, although ample plates and saucepans. It seems that the owners do not expect guests to cook as there was no tea towel, kitchen roll or wash up liquid. We were advised not to use more than two rings at one time as only a 3kw electric supply. No hot water on the last morning and the TV did not work.
During a Milan fair the price was extremely reasonable, so overall a 4 star rating

We stayed in apartment B for 4 nights. The apartment was really spacious for the 2 of us- there's a small kitchette with oven, fridge, coffee machine etc, lounge, huge bedroom with ample wardrobe space and a terrace upstairs which was a really nice addition. Luckily there was air-con which was a welcome break from 35 degree heat outside! A lot of people have said about the light curtains in the bedroom but we didn't find this a problem. There are velux blinds on the skylight windows in the bedroom- the only problem with these is that they sometimes just opened or closed on their own! We didn't really use the kitchen except for breakfast but it was good to have a fridge for milk etc. There are a few bars and a resturant a stone"s throw away which was handy, and the train station was about 2 min walk round the corner-with a small supermarket there- and then only took about 5 mins on the metro to get to central milan, so the location was really ideal. it was nice and quiet at night as its a residential area, and was very secure with a locked door to the courtyard and then the apartments. Our only small complaints are that we only had 3 refills for the coffee machine which weren't replaced when the apartment was cleaned and the table and chairs outside were metal so too hot to sit on in the day, but apart from that everything was great. Overall we really enjoyed staying here and Michele was really welcoming and explained everything on our arrival and even let us check in 2 hours early. I would recommend anyone staying in milan for a few days to stay here.

We stayed at these apartments for 4 nights, arriving late on the first night the owners were happy to let us check in and were really welcoming after a long journey. There are cooking facilities/fridge and there is certainly enough space for two.

Good location about 2 minute walk (through the train station) to the Garibaldi Metro stop which in turn is approx 5 minutes from Duomo. Free WiFi was also a really welcome addition. Only slight improvement would be that it could be better signposted from the outside (just read the apartment buzzers outside and look for Isola)

Stayed in Isola in January 2012 for a couple of nights. Stylish apartment, spacious, fully equipped for feeling like at home, small italian-style yard. And a HUGE wardrobe for true shopaholics and fashionistas in Milan :)

Nice location and good value for the expensive city.
