We spent three nays and nights at this non traditional hotel and were completely satisfied. Quiet, extremely clean, and close to Via Dante, The House Suites were the perfect choice for our group of three. Our room had a kitchenette with a fridge, a sleeper sofa, and a separate suite for privacy. The service at the hotel was spot on, with a very satisfying continental breakfast with coffee service and plenty of choices, served in a lovely dining room. The discrete location was so cool, entering through a private entrance which opens into the courtyard of the suites and private residences. We were close to Sforza Castle, Il Duomo, Santa Maria delle Grazie and all of the stores. This location is great in that you can drop off bags between stops, or just return to your room to rest those feet sore from all of those little paving stones that you will no doubt enjoy!

The location of this hotel is perfect, on a quiet small street but just a couple of blocks from everything. About a one minute walk to shopping, 5 minute walk to the duomo and any other major sites. The rooms are really spacious, the decor is simple and huge windows with a lot of natural light. A big modern bathroom which was appreciated since that is not typical in Italy. There is a small restaurant with a cold breakfast - good fruit, cheese, pastries and bread.

The staff was great but I wouldn't ask them for restaurant recommendations. They suggested a place to eat and insisted it was so busy we should have them make a reservation. We weren't sure where we wanted to go but ended up stopping at that restaurant without a reservation. Even though other places were busy this only had one table seated. The food and service were horrible and it was expensive. I am guessing the hotel staffs gets commission for making the reservation so they don't care how bad it is.

We've just returned from Europe, ending our three week trip with the final night in Milan. I reserved a room through Expedia and was surprised at the cost of 4 star hotels...we settled on Camperio because it was central and looked nice. We were greeted warmly and shown up to a fairly small room looking out onto an inner courtyard, but when I checked my booking confirmation it didn't sound right, we'd clearly been given a much cheaper room. We went down and queried the room...we were initially told that was their Heritage room, it's high season etc, but we stood firm and said we wanted a partial refund or the room we paid for...so we were transferred into an apartment and what a difference, like chalk and cheese. A restaurant had also been recommended by reception and they made a reservation for us...after the problem with the room, we decided to cancel the reservation and how relieved we were...lots of bad reviews on Trip Advisor - bad food, over-priced, rude staff and pressure to leave another tip on top of the cover charge/comperto and service charge. Are hotels recommending this restaurant because they get a commission? I wouldn't mind if the recommendation was decent, but to send your guests to a bad restaurant is very poor. (Nabucco was the name of the restaurant by the way)

Having said that....the building is beautiful, the apartments are comfortable, spotless, spacious and stylish with everything you might need...and the breakfast was fine, served in a very nice space. (the apartment was fairly hot though and the air-conditioning was noisy, but we simply opened a window)
It's a shame our experience has colored our opinion of this place. The receptionist apologized for the misunderstanding with our room...so we'll give him the benefit of the doubt. The location though is first class, we walked everywhere...

Room Tip: Make sure you get the room you paid for...

Stayed 2 nights in early April 2012. We were "upgraded" (no charge) to what might be a handicapped accessible room on the first floor above the reception and breakfast/lobby area. Very large stylish room with white scandinavian-style king bed, 2 chairs to sit in, stylish matching dresser, desk, closet, flat screen TV. Spacious spa-look bathroom with stall-less shower. Everything spotlessly clean, quiet. Full breakfast including eggs/bacon, cappucino. Located close to metro stop, restaurants, main street and walkable to duomo, brera neighborhood. Staff very helpful and speak English. Historic property but well kept. Couldn't ask for anything more!

Room Tip: Enjoyed the spaciousness of our room directly at the top of the entry stairs (by elevator), not sure...

The Camperio in Milan is an excellent little establishment with large rooms located right in the middle of Milan It’s a converted business house and has real charm to it.

Our room was large an spacious and was also a fair walk from receiption up and down a combination of lifts and staris.

But the dining area was gorgeous, with a beautiful vaulted stone ceiling.

It was also full of immaculately dressed Italians having breakfast – making us poor other Europeans and Americans feeling a bit shabby in a nice way. Where does Italy get all its beautiful people and clothes?? 

Superb location and service. Stefano and Lucca are extremely helpful. The breakfast has a diverse selection. The rooms are very large by European standards.
We are traveling with our toddler and needed a suit that allowed us to put him to sleep. Very quiet. We've never heard a neighbor. The road is also quiet with the windows open you hear occasional street noise only.

just off the main pedestrian street, close to castle and only 5-10 min walk from duomo (cathedral)... outside looks anonymous, but inside is different...smart lobby, stylish stone staircase (but a lift too), nice breakfast room (with non-stop sport on tv, which we were happy with but some might not be) and we were given an upgrade to a spacious suite for our 4 nights, which was appreciated. our room safe had been left inoperative by previous guest, but that was soon sorted by helpful staff.

only 2 downsides would make me hesitant about staying again. first, the room was very warm and the noisy airconditioning did not seem to help much. also, unless you want a standard touristy meal, there is not much by way of nightlife in the immediate area.

with regard to previous comments about noise, yes you get a little occasionally (especially if you are trying to get some air by having the window open), but really not bad for a city centre.
