After a while, you just know when a restaurant is real and when it is a little fake. As I was just having a very light supper after traveling for many hours, this review is based more on my observations than what I ate or had to drink. The service was spot on. Not hovering but there when needed. Absolutely no problem getting eye contact to ask for something. The M'aitre D or whatever title he would have was clearly consulting intelligently about the wine list, the food, today's specials etc. The other two staff were equally attentive. Although I wasn't eating much, I could look and I could smell. Looked good, smelled better. My own chicken with a Gorgonzola cream sauce was delicious (although I dislike the continental habit of wanting to pound every cut of meat into a cutlet ... please just leave it on the bone).
So ... this was one of the real restaurants, not flashy, not overly expensive, built for eating well.
